Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Tek Pal - Large Button TV Remote ControlCustomer Review: Large Key Remote Summary: 5 Stars
This gadget has been a very handy addition for my 94 year old mother. She has progressive macular degeneration and has a difficult time managing the many small buttons on a regular television remote control. There are only 6 buttons on the Tek remote, up and down channel, up and down volume, on/off, and mute. While she cannot jump channels, she's able to navigate with ease. The remote only works on the television, and not on cable boxes, DVD players, or DVR. It was easy to set up (but took someone with reading ability). The price was right too, $9.95 plus shipping and handling.
Customer Review: perfect size for my Grandma A+ Summary: 5 Stars
My grandma is in a nursing home and I would always tape her tv hand control over the buttons that she didn't use but she would manage to push them anyway, so then the hand control would mess up. This has been going on for 15 years. I notice her room mate had this easy to use hand control, 6 easy big buttons to push no mistakes, easy to install but however I think if you have a cable box it can't be install, it has to be the cable threw your tv only. I'm not real good with directions and these were easy. The shipping was faster then I thought too. So this gets a high ratting from me.
Customer Review: Terrific Remote Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the best remotes on the market for anyone who suffers from arthritic hands or poor vision. I bought this remote for my mother who suffers from moderate Alzheimer's and numbness in her hands. When you press any of the 6 buttons they light up which makes using the remote easier. The only draw back is not having the ability to select a particular channel without a numbered keypad; but that would take away from the simplicity of the remote. It is worth every penny of the low price and it is VERY easy to code with any TV set. I highly recommend this remote.
Customer Review: Great remote for people with memory loss or dementia Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this remote for my Grandmother who lives in a nursing home. She has Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Every time I would visit her I'd have to figure out how to reprogram her remote because she always finds that one button that clears the memory for the remote. I bought her this remote and she loves it, and better yet, can't un-program it. She says this is the best gift she's ever gotten and tells everyone who comes to see her. This is the best 20 bucks I've ever spent.
Customer Review: perfect for a 91 year old Summary: 5 Stars
When the analog TV went away, there was no way our 91 year old mother could work the new tv remotes. Her hands could not work the small buttons without reprogramming the TV. We looked for weeks, tried other remotes, untill we found the Tek-Pal. Then we unprogramed all the channels untill she had the 5 local channels she watches. Now,no matter what buttoms she pushes she can not reprogram or loose her TV picture. She still lives alone and thanks to Tek-Pal can watch her TV. john g
