I can't believe it took me this long to buy one of these, but it makes such a huge difference when shooting in the field. As a bird and wildlife photographer, it's difficult on sunny days to see my LCD, and this little device solves the problem. It's a little pricey, but has a nice diopter on the eyecup, has crystal clear viewing optics, and is extremely well made. The case has a belt clip and the landyard is very useful for hanging off my tripod. It's small and portable and easily thrown into a gadget bag for any trip out.
I am very happy with this product!

For me this device has proved just about essential, especially for Live View manual focusing for macrophotography against strong backlight.
A right-angle version, for low shots with a tripod, would be welcome, as would be a ring scale and index mark for quick focusing of the loupe.
Sincerely, the day I lose my HoodLoupe will be the day that I order a new one. Highly recommended.

In bright sun any LCD is just about useless. This solves the viewing problem in a well thought out, efficient manner. Rubber coated so it will not scratch your LCD, a quick release lanyard for sharing, and a belt pack for convenience. A final touch, a focusing lens for individual eyesight requirements as well as optional interchangeable eyepieces makes this a must have accessory.Customer Review: Hoodman helps me outside

My friend in NC has a HOODMAN and we were at the beach.So I used it and wanted one.
I knew that I needed one for all the outdoor shooting that I do.
I just did a photo shoot of a English horse trainer and this came in handy when he wanted to see the photos of him on the horse and jumping.
This is a must for out doors.

Whenever I am making pictures in bright sun, I regularly use the HoodLoupe to check histograms and verify framing. This formerly difficult/frustrating/nearly impossible task suddenly has become easy. I appreciate the included neck strap, which keeps this wonderful gizmo constantly ready to swing into action. Well worth the price.
