I bought these speakers to bring some music to my 60' X 30' back yard. I put my wife's old Kenwood receiver in the garage, and ran 12 gage speaker wire through the garage wall into the garden. I connected a Belkin iPod dock to the receiver. The result; great music in the yard. I have a modest home theater system around a Pioneer Elite receiver with a projector, five speakers and a sub. The HiFi Works rocks obviously don't sound as good as the theater, but for outdoors, they supply a very nice balance of highs and lows. I listen to jazz and blues primarily, and I am very impressed with these speakers. We've had plenty of rain since I installed them, but wet weather has not affected them at all. The only drawback is the wire splicing connection method. Binding posts would have been nice, but at the price we can't shoot for the moon. If you want music outside and want the speakers to disappear, these are for you.Customer Review: Good for the price, surprising quality

We were a little cautious of this purchase, we really wanted the ones from Best Buy, but couldn't get our hands on them. We bought them for our parents for wedding gifts from us. It literally took 10 minutes if that to set it up and get it working. Sound is really great, it was surprising how clear it was...only thing is on the bass. It struggled with a song with a lot of it, but for our parents and their music, it was perfect! The wiring included was way too short, so we picked up a large spool of it for both households for a relatively inexpensive price. Other than that, a great buy!

We got 2 pair of these (4 speakers) that we set up in an outdoor courtyard at work for outdoor company events. They will be used for background music and PA (speech), so they didn't need to be awesome, just decent. And they are!
In the past we used to have to set up a temporary sound system for each of these company events -- and then tear it down. Now we plan to just leave it set up.
Time will tell whether these will withstand the elements.

The speakers work fine for bringing music to your patio, deck or garden. There are far more expensive options available, but unless you are an advanced audiophile, these will do the job, just fine. Simple to hook up, with ample cable to make the connection, buy some waterproof wire connectors and (if you choose - direct burial stereo cable), place your speakers, then sit back, relax listen to the music - enjoy.Customer Review: Good for the price

These are just fine for what your going to pay for them. To get it a much better speaker your going to have to open up your wallet and pay a whole lot more. These are not high tech indoor sound systems. They are just outdoor patio speakers and they sound just fine for what they are meant for. The reviewer who couldnt hook them up hasnt ever hooked up speakers before because these were incredibly simple.
