This was recommended to me by a fellow RVer. We used it on a New England trip this fall & it was able to pull in some WI FI signal where the wireless card on my Dell Latitude did not have a prayer. There was some heartburn while getting it going... keep on trying. It took a reinstall after the Hawking support guy told me to return it & get a replacement. Just before I was ready to give up & return it, the Hawking sprang to life! This must be related to the Cousin Eddie theory: "Falls in a well, her eyes go crossed; gets kicked by a mule, looks perfect".Customer Review: Outstanding 5 Stars
I've performed hundreds of buying transactions on Amazon and have only left a review for 3-4 products over the past 7-8 years. When I leave a review it means that the product "walks on water" :-) This antenna works (period). It's easy to install and exceeded my wildest expectations. I went from ZERO Wi-Fi signal at my home to picking up SIX area routers to choose from. The advertised 300' range is conservative in my opinion. If you live in a established residential area like I do, you probably don't need to pay for an ISP :-)Customer Review: Wonderful little device

I received this item only 2 days after ordering with super-saver shipping. Very impressed. I first installed the software on my laptop (no problems at all), then plugged in USB, instantly it found the network and I was surfing. Then installed the software on the desktop (again no problems) and plugged in the USB, and just as quick had the network. The desktop had never had any high-speed connection (ie, wireless card etc...). Very impressed with the ease of use for the unit. I read mixed reviews and took a chance on this one. Using my laptop "pro wireless" I was able to pick up a couple networks aside from my LAN I would get 20k avg speeds.
5 minutes after installing this I picked up over 10 networks in my area .... Since they're unsecure and broadband, I'm considering getting rid of my own service and just use these ...
The "directional" claim seems to be legit, a little bulky and fragile, but for the $, I'm really happy with it ...

For some reason, wireless Internet has a hard time reaching the workspace in our apartment. I tried changing the router without success. However,afterI got the Hawking antenna, I have been able to always receive router signals at the highest transmission rate (54mps) without any problem. I have not experienced any of the fragility problems discussed. Overall, this product does what is supposed to do extremely well and I give it my highest recommendation.
