Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Star Wars R2D2 Interactive Astromech Droid Voice ActivatedCustomer Review: Smart Toy Summary: 5 Stars
I will say that R2D2 takes some time to learn how to used it. He definitely seems to have a mind of his own sometimes, but that is great part of the fun. You have to say things just right or else he doesn't understand and will just go about doing his own thing. The recommendation for 8 and up is probably right on due to the fact that it is a bit challenging for kids to operate (can even be challenging for adults!) Even so, R2 is so cute and life like so that any Star Wars fan or not would love it! My son's friends love to play with it when they are with us!
Customer Review: Grandmas toy Summary: 5 Stars
I am a star wars, star trek fan. My son gave me this for Christmas. I love it! I like just looking at it.I have loved R2 since I saw the first movie. Yes he does have a mind of his own but it is so much fun watching him do anything. These younger people can't imagine back in the 70's no one even thought that any thing like this robot would ever exist or be inexpensive to purchase. My granddaughter (16 mos) thinks he is her playmate. We have a great time every time I bring him out. I wish R2 had brothers I could make a Star Wars Room.
Customer Review: Surprisingly Durable! Kids are still playing with toy after 2 years!!, Summary: 5 Stars
We've had this toy for several years. My wife actually bought it for me, but my kids soon co-opted it from me. It's an enjoyable toy that has held up to the kids, though they really haven't been particularly rough with it. The voice commands don't work as reliably as I would like, but the toy is fun. My kids enjoy chattering at R2, though they haven't quite grasped the need to give a sequential series of commands. They especially like to watch R2 going into Dance Mode. Overall, I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Garage sale wonder Summary: 5 Stars
I found my R2 at a garage sale, actually. I spent thirty on him and a few months later I learned his true value. He was completely worth thirty dollars, though and I would have probably paid three times that much if I had to. I don't play with him very often, but he is always a laugh when people come over. They're always so curious about the little droid sitting in my house. And since he sits in my living room, he adds to the decor as well. He's definitely my most coveted possession.
Customer Review: Young Star Wars fan loves it. Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the R2 for my 5 year old son who absolutely loves the Star Wars movies. He was very excited when he opened the gift at Christmas. Keep the directions handy to figure out how to get him to respond to you. Only probably is my 5 year old doesn't speak clearly enough for R2 to respond. The older siblings are a help though...
R2 is simply adorable, would recommend for any Star Wars fan (young or old).
