Santa brought this to our 5 year old who feel in love with it immediately!
She listened to books on tape and CD's as well as music everyday in her room
for about an hour. The CD player started giving out at about 5 months and then totally
stopped working at 6 mos. It only has a 90 day warranty. I was shocked it didn't last
a year. Santa should have known better! I think I will look for an old boombox at a garage sale
that has stood the test of time.

We got this boom box for our 5-year-old a few weeks ago for Christmas, since she's been responsibly and carefully listening to her audio books on ours for a year. I put the first CD in myself, and it worked fine for an hour or so, but on the second use the CD function completely stopped and hasn't worked since -- it just gives an error message and doesn't even spin. What a disappointment for my little girl, and a frustration for me, who didn't save the receipt!Customer Review: ugh...

This is the second Hello Kitty boom box... it is now in the trash with the previous helly kitty boombox alongside the spongebob squarepants boombox.... Skips terribly, stops by itself... such a pain... never again will a boom box with characters enter my house!... it's old school black....like they used to make. We had the player on top shelf of bookshelf so only adults could access and use it. Much to our surprise, it stopped working after a handful of uses. Very disappointed. Don't purchase. The CD stopped playing and error messages appeared. My husband, who is an electrical PE and car mechanic (on the side) could not even figure out what went wrong. Luckily for us, this broke within 30 minutes of use by two very gentle girls (the cover won't close anymore). Lucky because we were still able to return it to the store. Seemed great, but clearly from the track record of these reviews it breaks down a lot. If it were super cheap, maybe it would be worth the risk. But we paid $30 for it.
