The hardware works flawlessly however the ability to set up a timed record with the provided software does not work. If you use something like SageTV it works fine but that costs more money. If you try BeondTV (at lest with my computer) the playback is jumpy. You can play it back with the Arcsoft software that comes with the HD-PVR. and it seems to work, but you can not use the remote control. Still again that cost more money. This product I highly recommend for the price. It took me an hour to get it to work right with my PS3, but once I did it has been working great ever since. My laptop is kinda old and yet I had no problem getting it to record footage. It even comes with it's own file converter to change the file format of anything you record. The videos I started making were so good looking that i've already gotten picked up by the website Battlestrats.com so go there and look up IRISHgamerKAIN if you want to see the quality of the footage i've gotten. Worth every penny in my book.Customer Review: Reasonable price for a great recording device.

The HD PVR is very light weight and records in H.264 video codec (the best video codec - used on Blu Ray disks). It was very easy to set the HD PVR and to install the software included with the HD PVR. The system requirements are reasonable compared to the Black Magic Intensity Pro. Even though it records via Component cables, I'm still satiesfied with what the HD PVR does. For people who want to buy this to record video game footage in HD, I highly recommend it. I would easily choose the HD PVR over the Hava HD Recorder or Black Magic Intensity Pro.Customer Review: How did we ever live without it? Superior device!

Now having had this box for two months, it's time to share a review. This device is spectacular. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but once you realize its worth, it's not so bad. We love the Happauge so much that my son and I have to share custody of it. He's capturing his XBOX360 gaming for his YouTube page, and I'm backing up old video, my PVR, etc.
Setup is easy. Picture quality is stunning. There are so many forums out there that can help you out with setup and tweaking of this device. It really has a cult following!

I placed my order for this on Feb. 7, 2010, and it is now Feb. 24, 2010. The same availability dates are listed... two to four weeks. Seriously? There aren't any that Amazon can snatch and sell to the public right now? So much for Prime Membership... LOL
Seriously though... I cannot wait to get this device! It will be used EXTENSIVELY to record video game footage through my PlayStation 3, for upload to YouTube. =) Fun and hilarity will ensue.
Please, Hauppauge, and Amazon... get the lead out, already! =)
