Personally, it took me longer to find a static radio station then it took for me to get the device setup. I haven't had a single problem with it; I find this easier than when I was using the tape converter for my IPOD on my old car. I read all the reviews about the itrip and was hesitant to buy it, but it was cheap so I got it. Finding a clean station took about 10 minutes but once i found one it worked very well. It even works about 30 feet from the car. Trust me when i tell you buy it, its awesome for the price. and i live in miami and if it works good here it should work anywhere. love it....Customer Review: best FM transmitter for the money

Don't get "for the money" part wrong. It is a very very good FM transmitter, but I suppose you can find a better one for $70 more. The less than $10 I spent for this one, it's icing on the cake!
I love it. Charges the ipod when connected to a power source through mini-USB cable. Leave it in DX mode though for better sound quality.

No idea why this product is getting so many bad reviews. Find a "static" station, plug the iTrip into your iPod, and start playing music. Simple as that. Sure, the music quality isn't as good as it would be with a CD, but you really can't complain. There's a bit of static but it's not noticeable when music is playing. I bought one of these when I first bought my iPod many many years ago...it worked great. It was a great product. The only reason I'm buying another one is that mine is old and has had a long life, but it's time to be replaced. I've had it for THREE years and I've never had a single problem with it. It's always worked GREAT!!!
