Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Griffin Technology iTrip FM Transmitter for iPod (White)Customer Review: Not a single problem. Good product! Summary: 5 Stars
Never had interference or distortion on a clean (unused) radio channel. One thing I liked was that I could use my phone charger (motorola uses the mini-usb plug, or is it micro?) to keep the battery on my iPod charged without any problems, it's probably not recommended but I haven't checked the power specs but I did this for almost 2 years with no problems. My new car has a built in mp3 player adapter, which is the only reason I don't use it much anymore but I still keep it around because it's great for bringing with me when I take someone else's car. It's light and portable between cars and purses (or pockets even). The only problem I noticed had nothing to do with the device at all, in some places I would travel to it just seemed like there were very few unused radio signals, haha. Again, this had nothing to do with the device so I have no complaints!
Customer Review: Only good FM transmitter under $50 Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried pretty much every other wireless fm transmitter there is out there (and wasted a bunch of money in the process), and this one is definitely the best especially for the money. I have only heard ipods sound better in the car when somebody had a tape deck adapter or a car itrip by Belkin (the one that doubles as a mount for you ipod) [that one is really the best for the car, but it's like $80]. On top of sounding good in the car, you can also use it anywhere there is an fm radio and it does not require batteries. This is why I believe that this particular item is the most practical for getting the job done. STAY AWAY FROM ALL OTHER ITRIP/FM TRANSMITTERS UNDER $50!!!
Customer Review: Works well for me! Summary: 5 Stars
I guess this item is pretty hit and miss. I've had excellent luck with mine...it works great! I was really apprehensive because of all the negative comments, but tried it anyway, and I'm glad I did. I set my radio on a static station, pressed play on my iPod, dialed in the iTrip to the station, and voila! my music came through loud and clear! And for anyone out there who is wondering, you CAN charge your iPod with the iTrip connected...you just need a USB car charger (like the Power Jolt), and a USB-miniUSB cable (I had one that came with my camera). I can't promise that this item will be great for everyone, but I'd say it's worth a shot. It sure was for me!
Customer Review: Sweet deal Summary: 5 Stars
I own one of these and have found it to be a bargain that works very well for my particular applications. Unlike many others who have posted reviews, I don't use it in a car(I have a Belkin unit for that and it works nicely), but rather it gets used with various radios around my house and at work. There have been no signal or sound quality problems, ever.
Driving to and from work, I place the ipod in my car's Belkin unit, which also charges the ipod, and once I'm at work the ipod is docked to itrip, placed next to a properly tuned radio, and the tunes roll all day long until the process is reversed to go go home.
Very cool.
Customer Review: It works perfect! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this after returning a Belkin product that plugged into the 12 Volt and into the iPod at the same time. I could barely hear anything on the Belkin and the frequency didn't go below 88.0.
While returning it the customer service girl said the Belkin was being returned a lot and that she had this iTrip. I bought thinking what the heck. It can't hurt. It definitely worked. it was playing clear music in no time and on a channel less than 88.0. Plus you can charge your iPod with a USB connector. I have a charger for my blackberry which worked perfect.
