I was a little concerned it might not work with my 3G iPhone because the description only references the first generation (1G). Rest assured, it works fine with the newest 3G iPhones. Best yet - and this is the reason I bought it - the cable is USB and can be unplugged from the adapter. This allows me to use plug in another cable, in my case the cable for my Jawbone II Bluetooth headset, and change it as well. Two devices, two cables, and only one adapter is a great thing.
Quality seems to be just fine. Take reasonable care of it, don't abuse it and I doubt you'll have any problems.

It seems weird to me that I couldn't buy just a cheap (below $10) charger and it easily work. But, they don't. I bought two chargers around $5 each and they both crapped out within a couple of months and were flaky even before that. This charger works every time and I don't have to worry about it flaking out on me. I wish it only cost $5, but that's because I'm a cheap engineer. Rationally speaking, it is easily worth $15. Oh, and I have a 3GS, so no worries about the packaging not explicitly stating that it works for 3GS.Customer Review: A Very Good Charger

I've been using this charger for some time now, and it has working flawless since the time of purchase. I have been using it on my iPhone 3gs with the Navigon Mobile Navigator so that I may keep my phone charged while on long driving trips. Along with the Great deal I got here on Amazon with delivery (instead of going to Apple)for the charger, I'm very pleased with its proformance.Customer Review: Bought Two for iPhone 3GS

Purchased one for me, one for my wife, and they both safely charge our iPhone 3GS's when we use them. The only thing I don't care for is how the included cable is more difficult to attach to the iPhone when compared to the traditional white iPod cable. I'm careful when I use it but I wonder it could damage the phone. Beyond that, it's a solid product and would recommend.
