I own the USA SPEC PA11-HON2y iPod interface, which is connected to and integrates nicely with the audio system of my Honda Accord. This system is great except that it doesn't charge the iPhone 3G/GS. There has since been a new cable released by USA SPEC which works with the iPhone, but the way my interface was installed, I can't get to the box to plug the new cable in. I had originally bought an adapter from CableJive which correctly converted firewire power to USB power, however, it was flimsy and didn't attach securely to the iPhone, which meant that whenever I went over a bump, the adapter would disconnect and my audio would go out. I just got the Griffin charge converter last week and, in comparison to the CableJive adapter, it is very well-constructed and sturdy. There is no spring button release, unlike some plugs - you just push the connector in and pull it out without having to depress buttons on either side of the plug. Despite this, the adapter fits snugly both into the iPhone and with the cable that plugs into it. The only advantage the CableJive adapter has is a mini-USB port built into its side, which allows you to inject power if you're using an accessory which doesn't normally provide power on its own. Still, I wish Griffin had come out with their adapter earlier, so I could have saved the $30 I spent otherwise.
