Customer Review: poor quality, & died for no reason
Summary: 1 Stars

I've had this gamepad for only a few months, and it died all of a sudden for no apparent reason. My experience was similar to what another person posted.. at first, it stopped working occasionally, and I would have to reinstall drivers, etc., to get it to work again - so I thought it was a software problem. Now the light that comes on for the "precision" button no longer comes on, and it seems that there is some kind of physical problem with the circuits.. it's not even getting power. I've never dropped this gamepad, nor has it been used excessively, so I chalk it up to cheap components.
Also, when it *was* working, it didn't work well.. yes, it looks nice, and it's relatively comfortable, but I found it very difficult to calibrate - it needed to be recalibrated frequently, and sometimes, mid-game, the calibration would change suddenly, and could not be reset without resetting the computer first. Even when you did get the directional center assigned, it would waver back and forth, even though you weren't touching the pad. The software they included was worse than useless. Stay away from this one.

Customer Review: Don't be fooled,It's a Analog stick,not a D-pad!!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

First off, this pad was very easy to install.I did'nt even need to load the gravis software or download the windows XP software to get It to work. All I did was plug It in and windows XP reconized It automatically, and I was playing in no time. The quality of the pad is pretty nice, and is decently comfortable as well.

However the D-Pad is horrible!! It's not really a D-pad at all. It's a analog stick with a d-pad shaped face on It,instead of your usual knobs on the end like most analog sticks. The result is horrid control!! like most analog sticks,It might be good for raceing and flying games. But for other games like street fighter where you auctually need presise control to pull of the special moves like fireballs, etc.Such things are extremly difficult to do with this pad.And the thing has no grip to It,1/2 the weight of my thumb alone is enough to cause It to register a command sending me in the wrong direction.

Overall It's a nice quality pad but the horrible D-pad shaped analog stick and even worse control, tottally ruin the whole thing.I'd give It a zero If I could.

Customer Review: This is garbage.
Summary: 1 Stars

A friend gave me this pad before considering throwing it in the trash. After two days of having it, >I< threw it in the trash. The D-pad has got to be the worst thing about it, its a D-pad that wants to be an analog stick. So its never fast enough on oldskool games because of all its "give." It has the right ammount of buttons (Start, Select, L & R) but that D-pad is soooo hoakie. I'd rather have an old Turbo Touch 360's flat touch panel from my Nintendo days. Atleast those actually worked. If you want console quality but on your PC, don't bother with flimsy copycat PC gamepads because they ALL suck. Get a Lik-Sang adapter and you can use PS1&2 pads on your PC! Download Joy2Key and you'll have awesome Keyboard and Mouse mapping software just like any Saitek or Logitech pad.

Customer Review: Controls unsuitable for any fighting game
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this controller to play fighting games on my PC as I have a NeoGeo arcade emulator as well as capcom CPS2 arcade emulator, and PSX emulator. So I played SF Ex2, Fatal Fury mark of the wolves, marvel vs. capcom, last blade 2...etc...
The controls on this pad were simply horrible. The directional pad is basically an analog stick without the stick which means instead of your typical small precise movements, this pad requires large movements which doesn't add to the precision as unless you completely depress the d-pad in whatever direction you want, it simply won't respond. So, basically, to execute a special move, you really really have to depress the pad with vigor...

In shorts, its horrible for fighting games, I just returned it.

Customer Review: Do NOT buy or use this gamepad! (NO STARS!!)
Summary: 1 Stars

Although it has 10 workable buttons which come in handy for some games, it has some major flaws. On some games, if you press Up on the gamepad you go Down, and when you press Down you'll go up. The directional pad is totally useless, games where you need to move the D-pad rapidly, forget about it!! The buttons in the back eventually get stuck. You can't use any other Gravis controller while this one is in use. And on top of all that, not even the uninstaller works right. When you goto uninstall the controller, it screws up your computers registry files. It was a nightmare just to get my computer working again. I'll never buy another Gravis gamepad again.
