Very pleased with the product. Have been using for a couple of months now. Lighting fast position acquisition is excellent when using with topo software in the field with a laptop. Position can be acquired, marked, then hibernation for power savings. Software was easy to load. Once "Comm Port" was set up - it was off and running. Works flawlessly with other application software using GPS. You can't go wrong with this product.

I have been using this with my marine navigator software and I am a very pleased.
The shipment arrived as was promised and it has been working well from day one and if you are planning to purchase this great little, inexpensive gadget to use it with your navigation software I suggest strongly first check with the software vendor's website just to make sure their software and the antenna are compatible.

I installed DeLorem Topo 8.0 on a Mac that was running Windows XP on a VMware Fusion virtual machine, and connected the GPS receiver. Everything works well.
Special thanks to Amazon for rectifying a problem. The first time I ordered the GlobalSat BU-353 GPS receiver, it went to the wrong address and got lost by the post office. Amazon quickly refunded my money, even though I don't think the error was their fault.

I've been using my BU-353 with ms Streets and Trips for a month or so and I have to say it has worked flawlessly. It locks on quickly and accurately and does exactly what it's supposed to. I attach it to my dash with a bit of velcro and I'm off. In my job I make between 15 and 20 stops a day and every day is a different route. This has made everything so much easier. Use this GPS with a laptop/notebook and some freeware like netstumbler or others to log Wifi nodes.
Upload to GPSvisiualizer type site to map them. My 2006 survey of the local neighborhood found a few dozen.
A recent one (1/31/2011) had 250 in the same area. With a parabolic antenna attached to an external USB
b/g Wifi adapter I can log 79 from my backyard! Oh, the GPS isn't necessary for that experiment.
