Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Genius MousePen 8 x 6-Inch Graphic Tablet for Home and OfficeCustomer Review: Perfect for the Price! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this tablet almost a year and a half ago, and its still working perfectly! The only real con I noticed is that the pen itself isn't very durable. I broke it (not really broke, just put a crack in it) a couple weeks after I got it. Though it hasn't had any problems since and the pen works fine none the less! It's still holding together, even though I can sometimes be a bit rough with the poor thing. I'd have to say that this is a great 'first' tablet, especially considering the price of it. Also, I used to have a Windows 2000 and a Windows XP, both of which this tablet ran fine with (though the 2000 needed a bit of tweaking). I now have a Windows Vista and it runs just fine on here too, in fact it runs perfectly! All in all, its a great tablet for a great price!
Customer Review: Works! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first tablet, and for $45 i wasn't expecting much. I don't do drawing, but I am a photgrapher, and I bought this tablet almost exclusively for doing selections in photoshop. It works quite well. The software that comes with the tablet, besides trial versions, is not all that wonderful, and you can toss the junky little mouse out right away. The pen feels kinda junky too, and the buttons on the pen are even worse. The bottom line though is that this thing does exactly what it says it's going to do, and it's a great value. I say let Wacom bring their prices down because Genius has this product on the market. Isn't that what competition is all about? I recommend this product without reservation. I've owned it for a month.
Customer Review: Stellar product for fraction of Wacom's price Summary: 5 Stars
I cannot believe this was only $[...] bucks with a screen twice the size of Wacom's small tablets that sell for (nearly) twice as much.
The only draw backs -
1. the pen is battery operated.... one AAA, but if you have a battery charger it's not that much of an issue
2. I liked the finger wheel thingy that my Wacom had that made it really easy to zoom.
But seriously... it's only [...] bucks and it is amazing..... 1,024 pressure levels... I don't really see the need for the 2,048 pressure levels offered by Intuos4... I'd much rather have a larger work area. I mean, how much does Wacom charge for comparable workspace? That'd be the "medium size" Intuos4 tablet that sells for what... $[...]?
Customer Review: Exactly what the low-budget artist needs! Summary: 5 Stars
This tablet has a ton of features without being overwhelming and you can't beat it for the price! While the pen definitely takes some getting used to, this really brings a whole new level of perfection to digital art. Great interface, easy controls, minimal set-up, instant installation. While I know there are more advanced ones out there, this one isn't glitchy and is a joy to use as is. I can definitely say you get your money's worth and more on this one-- it's also very sturdy, which is a definite bonus for anything you own when you have nieces and nephews that don't always answer to the word 'no'. You won't find a better deal out there-- believe me I've looked. I couldn't have asked for a better deal.
Customer Review: A professor finds a solution to merging technology and board space! Summary: 5 Stars
I have a technology enabled classroom and all of the board space is behind the screen. (As a chemistry professor this is very painful!)
For my application, no need for the special software, Vista treats is as another mouse. Plug and go! What a joy to use the Pointer options in Office 2007. I write on my slides and students remain engaged! There are also cool things you can do in Acrobat Pro with your PDF files...zooming is one thing worth doing.
Just watch your writing... the resolution is excellent so you need to take your time with your writing and drawing so it turns out neat. Your hand-eye coordination will improve with time and you will look like a pro.
