I'm not made of money & I've always wanted to try a tablet but didn't want to pay 400$ for something I wouldn't know how it worked, that's when I bought the "Genius MousePen 8 x 6-Inch Graphic Tablet for Home and Office." I fell in love with that tablet & used it every week until the surface started scratching & wires started to tear. When that happened, I wanted to buy something newer, lighter & larger but still the Genius brand since I have NO problems with it. After receiving this product I fell in love with it, it's so much bigger & I was surprised to find more options with it, there's no need for me to even whip out my keyboard. With my Vista, the Tablet has its own built in keyboard you can use with the pen, it came with its own plastic cover flap so as not to scratch the surface and another cover for the entire tablet. I discovered I had to press a bit harder to work with the pen, got use to it.
I really don't know why people are saying this product isn't that great, sure I'm not a professional artist, but I can create full out detailed inked & colored drawings using an old version of Photoshop with this thing in a matter of hours from start to finish. I recommend this product for those who aren't wanting to pay that hefty price. In fact, with using "only" this product, I've gotten e-mails from art galleries wanting me to bring some of my pieces to their art exhibitions, yet I'm reading other reviews saying this tablet isn't so-so as a profesional product. I don't see what the problem is and I highly recommend this product!

The product arrived much earlier than expected, which is great news!
The tablet and pen both work perfectly smooth. I am not into freehand painting, just done a couple of sketches, and looked good enough. As good as they would look with a pencil :)
With photoshop, the improvement is just great! For me it is much more efficient than the mouse. After a very short learning curve you are ready to take full advantage of the dinamics part of the tools, and you will be working faster and better with photoshop.
I have read some concerns about the tip wearing out... I don't have any issues with that so far. I have been retouching around 200 photografies with the tablet, and so far so good.
I really recomend it.
It is not a high end model, but it is great for photo-retouching and doing some sketches.
With windows vista you have also the full power of the tablet input method, and you can write anywhere with writing-recognition instantly available.

I first saw this product on Tiger Direct about 8 months ago. Price was $129 at first then slowly went down to $99. I kept it on my wish list but then, the need for the use of a graphics tablet grew so much on me with my daily work that I had to purchase one. I decided to try Amazon to see if they had in stock, and sure they did, $20 cheaper too.
The tablet works great. If you're a novice, you might have a few problems especially with the pressure sensitivity but that can be adjusted. My workflow has increased and I even use the pen-ink functionality when I want to ease up typing. I really can't complain. It was a great buy and I'd recommend this to anyone needing a graphic tablet.

I bought this pen table as a gift , it is a good value for your money , it was installed in a mac snow leopard , it works really good, use the drivers from the CD , they are newer than the one in genius' website, or compare them before install it and install the latest .
The tablet size is good , the pen requires a AAA battery ( included ) , it is not heavy at all, it is really thin, a little bit bulky , so make sure you have a desk with enough room for you laptop or keyboard , mouse and the new tablet.
It works seamlessly with any programs, the pen works as a mouse as well , it is been used for Adobe products.

I'm a new tablet user, and my Genius G Pen is wonderful. I personally think its great for first time users like myself. It was easy to set up and configure, works wonderfully, and was rather inexpensive. On Windows Vista, it installed on its own with no need for the disc, and I was able to use it right away.
I decided to buy a Genius over Wacom, mainly because of the price difference. I haven't had any tablets previously to compare quality, but I suggest this tablet for people who are new to digital tablets, and don't want to pay an arm and a leg.
