Worked the first time and drivers installed themselves on my Windows 7 64bit computer.
After some third party software confusion I installed ASIO drivers and it worked perfectly with no noticeable lag.
Perfect for those who are just getting started and don't have a lot of equipment.
Having ASIO drivers for your editing software can be important as it can dramatically speed up performance and makes this cable a dream to work with. In my experience 9 times out of 10 if there's a problem with something like this it'll be software related.

In my initial tests recording some simple stuff, this appears to actually work. I'm sort of surprised, mostly impressed.
I'm using it with a newish Casio PX-300 digital piano, and the latency and functionality appear to work perfectly. I notice no delay or bad latency issues (yet) though I wouldn't be surprised if the thing had some kind of issue for less than six bucks.
Also, using it on a MacBook Pro with Garage Band - all working great. Audio/Midi setup picks it up right away... it really is plug and play. Nice!

I chose this particular cable set after looking at the host of
available ones.One of my concerns was that it is a so called "Generic" cable.
I use this with my Yamaha keyboard and my Roland Cakewalk software
to record my original music. After a few false starts(operator error), I have come to rely on this set up. It is easily set up, and works great! The cost is easily
affordable for the "hobbyist" musician, as compared to many others that are
available. I highly suggest this particular cable set.

Good god, this thing does the job.
I finally invested in an Apogee Duet. But once I got it, I realized it doesn't have direct MIDI connection capability. My pawnshop Yamaha PSR225 was sad, and MIDI-to-Firewire adapters seemed expensive and hard to find.
I ran across this MIDI-USB connector and bought it quickly, hopefully.
I found it quite easy to get working. Now I compose using Logic's MIDI instruments on my imac, and everything sounds frikkin' AWESOME.

I ordered this device to substitute for an older MIDI cable that connected to a 15-pin joystick port on an older computer. It worked well, and I could enter notes from my keyboard into MIDI applications. However, anytime you use a device like this, try to have some sort of hardware acceleration for MIDI (i.e., a sound card that provides real-time MIDI rendering). This will enable you to playback MIDI from multiple devices, such as a computer and a keyboard, in real-time. Otherwise, there will be a time lag between the two.
