Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of USB MIDI Cable Converter PC to Music Keyboard Window Win Vista XP, Mac OSCustomer Review: The Goods and The Bads Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this midi cable a while ago and needed some time to fully test it and to right a beneficial review. It does what is suppose to do as i bought it obviously to record with midi.
The Goods:
1.plug and play with windows 7
2.easy to connect
3.it have a light to show you when a keyboard is pressed
The Bads:
1.it doesn't have a manual, so i needed to read a little bit about midi cable since this is the first one i use.
( MAIN ISSUE : you need to insert the IN ending into out opening of the keyboard and OUT ending in the in opening ).
that is the only bad thing ,other than that it is worthy buying equipment.
Customer Review: Easy and cheap! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these to connect to my old casio keyboard. This product truly is plug-and-play. I hooked up both ends and waited for driver installation. After that, it was all set. I use Linux Multimedia Studio, and the software detects the keyboard perfectly. There is hardly any delay and the sound quality is nice. Definitely a cheap, yet reliable solution!
As a side note, when I was first installing it, I accidentally moved my laptop, loosening up the usb connection. As a result, the drivers weren't installed properly the first time around. Be cautious when installing the drivers for the first time because it seems the usb is loose. But its no biggie once installed.
Customer Review: Works flawlessly with Mid 2010 iMac and OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 Summary: 5 Stars
The item I received was exactly as pictured. I plugged the USB plug into my iMac and then (per the included instructions) plugged the Midi OUT on the cable to the Midi IN on the keyboard and then Mini IN on the cable to Midi OUT on the keyboard.
Turned on my iMac and turned on my keyboard. Per the instructions, I got a red light indicating power on the midi cable. Started up GarageBand, and it simply worked.
So, not much of a review of the cable, just letting folks know that this cable worked plug-and-play on my mid-2010 iMac 27" 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5 with OS X 10.6.6 and a Casio keyboard (an old one).
Customer Review: Great value Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for use with a MacBook Pro running OSX 105.7. It's been total plug and play. I hooked it up to my AxeFx (best guitar amp simulator plus FX box on planet) after plugging it into my Mac(no software instanllation) and it worked perfectly. I have a couple of other midi boxes that are much more expensive that do not work with Axe Fx, so I was delighted. Also used it with Sonuus guitar-midi converter and it works great. The Sonuus plus this interface gives you a monophonic guitar synth rig (in conjunction with laptop w/audio interface) for $111 that will fit into the same space as one medium-sized stomp box.
Customer Review: Beware with Logitech drivers in WinXP Summary: 5 Stars
Hey folks - if you're experiencing an issue with this 'generic' cable and/or it seems not to be working at all after plug in, just make sure you try it again after unistalling ANY of your Logitech camera drivers and reboot your PC as there's a known incompatibility out there with the cable auto-install software.
I currently have a Korg SP250 and play it through Synthesia 0.7.3 over WinXP SP2, silk-smoothly after a couple investigations.
If problem persists, please don't blame me; I'm just another brick in the wall =)
RECOMMENDATION SUITABLE ONLY FOR WINDOWS XP SP2!!!
