Customer Review: Works great with Vista
Summary: 5 Stars

I have Vista and a Yamaha P-60. The cable works great, can't beat the price and the quality seems great. Thankfully I knew about the reversed in-out plugs from these helpful reviews.

I just had a lot of trouble figuring out what program I need. I figured I could just plug it in and magically it would record, but it didn't. I found a couple of great programs, I use Red Dot forever (free) to record, it's great because it's really simple and you can program piano keys (or pedal) to control play, stop and record. So I don't have to leave the piano to start over my recording or play it back--cool!! I use the free version of Wavepad to do a little editing, and converting to WAV or MP3 although the midi files play in media player so I can email without converting. I hope this is helpful!

Customer Review: Adding to what has been said

I'm mostly writing to report on a working configuration.
No instructions included with mine, but as it turns out none were needed.
Received the device (one day later than the 2 days I was supposed to receive it in, but sorta "so what" for a very inexpensive device that works).
I hooked my Win XP PC up to my circa 1985 Casio keyboard (out to in, in to out), went to "Midi/Sync" preferences in Ableton Live 8, selected "USB Audio Device", then down below made sure that device's Track setting was On. Voila! I'm listening to Ableton synths triggered via my midi keyboard.
The cable which I'm guessing is maybe 5' in total is a reasonably helpful length.
I'm no MIDI expert, but its workin for me! Thanks seller.

Customer Review: Wasnt sure to risk it, but turned out great!!!

I got this cord for my old Casio CTK-511 to hook up to use as a MIDI controller for Ableton Live 8 and Fruity Loops 9. I run Windows 7 Ultimate on a Lenovo Y510 laptop. I read the other reviews saying that you may have to switch the MIDI in/out ports and I did have to a few times.. The only issues I had were by my own default in not knowing how to set-up the new MIDI keyboard in the Preferences of my programs, but after a bit of tweaking things turned out great. Now I can use my wireless keyboard for a VST in Ableton, whilst having a stand alone Drum Machine or whatever the case may be and use my keyboard for it. I really recommend this brilliant product. Though it is kinda fragile feeling.. Its great for my needs.

Customer Review: Works like a charm
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this mainly for my Guitar Hero: World Tour drum set to tweak sensitivity. The product works and is easy to install and use. I use Windows 7 64-bit and no other software was needed, win7 recognized the device and it was ready to use. This also works with my electric piano (Yamaha) and I use it as a midi controller. Some have noticed some lag when you use a midi controller with this product. I recommend upgrading your sound card, specifically to recording grade.

Note: Guitar Hero/Activision Hardware Support will give you this cable for free if you need it specifically for your Guitar Hero drum set. It will take 3-4 weeks according to support. i got impatient and bought this cable on amazon :p.

Customer Review: An Excellent Product/Bargain

Just received the USB MIDI connector: Fast delivery (3 days), Easy installation, and as of now, it works well. I am connecting GEM's REALPIANO PRO1 to my PC (OS Win Vista) and using FL Studio as the software for the job. I set up the midi options within FL Studio accordingly, changed one parameter on the REALPIANO PRO1 and then it was just a matter of plug and play. I am very satisfied so far. At first I was skeptical because of the low price, but I read the reviews and since they were mostly positive I decided to give it try. As far as I can tell, it is well worth the price and the quality! If you are looking for a good USB to MIDI interface, look no further, you have found it! I definitely recommend it.
