Customer Review: Worked fine for my Windows 7 64-bit desktop

I am new to MIDI and am a music novice. The product worked fine with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and as soon as it was plugged to USB port (the other side connected to my YAMAHA keyboard), the right drivers for MIDI where assigned to the device by Windows 7. Just be aware that the MIDI IN plug on the cable should go to MIDI OUT on the Keyboard and reverse. This is no problem for people familiar with MIDI.
Since I am new to learning music, most of my time when I got the cable was spent finding some freeware to record MIDI from the synthesizer keyboard. This for no reason turned out to be a tough task (using Google). A few software that I found and they were free, did not work on Windows 7 64-bit and even evaluation copies from Sonar (Cakewalk) and others sdid not work on Windows 64-bit.
Eventually I found something simple called "Red Dot Forever" with which you can record MIDI to create MIDI files directly from the Synthesizer keyboard. You can then replay it in Windows or convert it to other files or edit it/arrange it for other instruments. For the later I found a freeware called "SynthFont".
Anyhow I spent a day to find these software to start as a beginner. Maybe you can save time if you are in the same boat.
The cables worked just fine. The only reason I gave it 4 is because the cable came with no description or anything regarding drivers and how to connect them which could be a problem for some people. Things worked fine with Windows 7 but what if it had not?
