I bought this adapter to use with an X-Arcade joystick. I was worried about lag, but I've come to find out that when you use the X-Arcade adapters for the various systems there is already lag involved. I've used it for around 1-2 hours, but I did not detect any lag. I'm also not a tournament player so I might not even know lag if it bit me.
It worked better than I expected. After some reviews here I thought it may not work at all.

Turned my old PSX/PS2 mini fightstick into a PS3 compatible fight stick. The only things I'm missing is force feedback and a "Home" button...but that's my fightstick's fault. Response times for Super Street Fighter IV seem pretty good, because I can still pull off the few combos I know (I'm not great yet haha so I can't comment as if I played with crazy tournament worthy skills). Well there is not much to say about about this product. The PS2 Controller Adapter for Sony PS3 works just like it was described. It beats having to purchase another ps3 remote at about $50. The only reason why I did not give a 5 star rating is of course the PS button and the fact the ps2 controllers do not have the 6 axis.Customer Review: PS2 to PS3 controller adapter

If you can't afford a new ps3 controller or have many old ps2 controllers(like me) then you will find it useful. I don't use it much, but when I'm in a jam and need more then 2 controllers, I get this one out to use my wireless ps2 controllers.Customer Review: ps2 adaptor for ps3

I like the fact that i have ps2 controller(not sony brand)and i have connected to my computer and it works perfect, but if you try to use a sony brand controller it probably wont work. Although its doesnt work for any of my ps2 games.
