I ordered this replacement power cable after the one that came with my Garmin stopped working. This was also after I tried a couple different alternatives from local retailers with no luck. This was the perfect solution for me when my vehicle power cord stopped working after 3 years. I did not want to spend another $300 on a new GPS, but without the power cord, my GPS was useless. This is my first use of a GPS. I can only say, this was extremely easy to use. It had everything I needed. The voice was not intrusive and the directions were easy to follow. Works. The only problem is the research I had to do to see if this was the right one for Street Pilot I5 Garmin. Not listed on specs because Garmin has discontinued the "street Pilot name." But I ordered 2, one for each car. Good to have back-up, because I couldn't find compatible plug in any local electronic stores.Customer Review: GREAT price for an original Garmin product

After our son destroyed the original Garmin automobile power adapter I bought an off brand that lasted until I turned it in the socket and that was that. Two things I have learned. NEVER rotate the plug in the lighter socket and always buy from Amazon. (You'll pay 3x what Amazon charges if you buy this from Garmin.)
