Customer Review: Don't leave home without it!

I bought this for my daughter and I to use on a vacation while driving in France, Andorra and Sweden. It was wonderful. It did away with the necessity of detailed maps in each city. We did learn right away to use the gps, but verify with a regular map when driving to another city. France has several cities with the same name. Prepare ahead or verify with a map that you are going to the right city. I agree with another user, one must slow down if possible, to make sure to take the right turn, however when we missed a turn, "Jack" (We named him after the Australian voice) would quickly re-calculate and we would get back on track. It was very reassuring to have this GPS especially in cities where street signs were small and hard to locate.
In Sweden, it took a while to reprogram the maps and acquire the satilites. I found myself very relieved when I heard "Jack's" voice tell us to drive the the highlighted route!
The small size, and clear screen makes it easy to carry and use.

Great product to use in Europe. I drove from Florence to Venice and back. It took me right to my reserved parking area. From Florence to Pisa and back with a side trip to Lucca. No problems. Florence to Rome one way straight to my hotel which was hard to find even by the local taxis as we were sort of on the outskirts. Then finally from my hotel in Rome to the international airport. Again no problems. I even got it to locate the flight we were on once. At 700 MPH plus I had a problem having it log on more than once though.
If I could add an option it would be to add a view current location. It always wants you to go somewhere. It has the option but it seems to stick to the last location you went to.
If you are using this unit to travel with I recommend you pre-save the locations that are important to you saving time when you are ready to start.
Careful driving in Italy though. Italians are born to drive gran prix style. In autos, Vespas and bicycles. Definitely an experience.

Light and thin. Very clear and visible display even in the sun. Be aware though that sun glasses with polarized lenses reduce visibility. It fits easily in your pocket. Extremely easy to use. Very effective and precise both in a car or on foot. Plenty of features. It comes with all the needed accessories.
I have recently and extensively used it during a trip up to Maine (I live in NY)and it never got stuck. If you happen to skip a turn Nuvi 370 quickly recalculates and take you to the right route.
Completely satisfied!
Unfortunately about three weeks ago my nuvi 370, inxplicably, stopped receiving satellites signals. I tried averything even with Garmin tech's assistance on the phone, but at the end I had to send it to the factory for repair or replacement. Well in less than ten days Garmin International, not having succeded in fixing my unit, sent me a brand new Nuvi 370.
A little disppointed for the inconvenience but definitely satisfied with Garmin speed and efficiency.

This is an excellent product and we are very happy with it.
We took the Garmin Nuvi 370 to Italy with us. What a lifesaver. There were only 2 instances where we ended up with no where to go. Both were a result of us taking wrong turns and the Garmin having to recalculate. One time we ended up under the freeway where the road had been wiped out by said freeway, and the other (in Piombino) the city had blocked the road making it a pedestrian crossing.
My husband found a couple of problems while using it around here, before we left. When an address was near the boundary of two cities, Nuvi 370 couldn't find it. The software needs some updating.
"Garmin Gertie's" pronunciation of Italian leaves much to be desired. Although, we exprienced great frustration initially, because of it, we had to admit, she was good for a laugh now and again!
We eventually turned her off and just followed the highlighted route.
To date, we feel the Nuvi 370 to be about 95% correct.

I bought this gadget mainly to find my way around Italy in April, but started using it at home to figure out how to use it. In no time, it has become one of my favorite gadgets. It is still able to do things I have yet to figure out, of course. But for the basic get-me-from-here-to-there, it is quite magnificent, and I look for chances to go somewhere new for the fun of using it. It has been rock solid accurate, right down to where the place is on the street. Choice of routes is excellent. It's pretty easy to tell it where you want to go. The instructions are given in very timely fashion. I am now working on my timing: if I ask, "What do I do next?" at the right time, I can sometimes trick my passenger into thinking it's a real conversation ...
P.S.
It finds addresses in Italy perfectly well, although I won't be there until next month. It even located the waaaay off the beaten path location of the house in rural Piedmont where I'll stay. Quite a confidence builder.
