I received this product and was up and running after just a few minutes with the manual. I had to spend an hour or so to understand all the functions. This was not bad considering this was my first time with this type GPS. I use this product for Geo Cacheing and it is terrific. I have found the accuracy to within 5 ft most of the time and I do not even have the WASS capability turned on. The unit picks up the satellites very fast when first turned on and I have had no trouble even under dense tree cover. This unit comes USB capability which is great for downloading GPS coordinates or Geo Cacheing locations.Customer Review: Great, especially for a first.

To be completely honest, this was my first handheld gps device...but from my perspective this is one great device. I purchased it for the desert and used it to track were i went so i could look back as well as just look at stats such as top speed, distance traveled etc. I know im not using it to its full potential but it does work great for that kind of stuff. The thing that really pulled me towards this product was the price...after comparing this to many other handhelds, i felt like this was the best bang for the buck and i still feel the same way. I wanted a GPS primary for hunting and have used Garmins with good success in the past. This model provided all the features I was looking for and more. I never once lost reception while hunting even in the deepest woods. The unit worked equally well in a pocket or inside the truck which wasn't the case with the previous GPS units I've used. I've recently started using my GPS while running to track milage and speed. The Trip Computer will track distance, max speed, average speed, time spent moving and time spent stopped. While you have to reset the data each time it's still a very useful tool.Customer Review: Good buy

The GPS has worked well most of the time. It doesn't lose the signal like my last one, the Garmin V. Finally had to replace the batteries after 6 hikes or rides. Great. A belt clip case freed my hands and kept the GPS from swinging around on my neck. The only problem, once, is it didn't give accurate elevation: should have been over 8000 but it said below 3000. It may have been a user error for not waiting long enough to find the satelites before marking a waypoint at our starting point. THIS IS A GREAT STARTER FOR GEOCASHING. WE HAVE FAMILY WHO HAVE THE LEGEND HCX AND OREGON. THIS UNITS HIGH SENITIVITY RECEIVER IS AS ACCURATE AS THEM. STANDING IN THE SAME PLACE THE VENTURE WAS ONLY OFF .OO1 FROM THE OREGON. ALTHOUGH THE MAP IS NOT THAT GREAT, WHEN FINDING WAYPOINTS ITS STILL A GREAT UNIT FOR THE PRICE.IT HAS THE GEOCASHING MODE AND COMES WITH THE TRIP AND WAYPOINT MANAGER CD ROM. OVERALL WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH OUR PURCHASE
