I originally thought that this item doesn't work with the HCx, because the battery cover doesn't fit, but like many people said in other reviews, your HCx came with a clip that attaches to the back of the battery cover. I got my HCx used, so it did not have this clip. If you search for "eTrex Mounting Clip Replacement" you should be able to find it though.Customer Review: Nice for biking

I bought this for my Trek MTB, fits perfectly on my handle bar and holds my GPS in place even in extreme conditions. I recommend this product for all the biking enthusiasts who has eTrex. I have used this product for a long time, just never got around to reviewing it here. There's not a lot to say.
It's a bicycle mount bracket, and it does its job pretty well!
That's what I needed.
For eTrex Color models you can't use the provided lid (it doesn't fit!) but your GPSr fits directly using the small clip included in the original package of the GPSr itself.
To sum up: a good purchase.

It is a little strange that you have to switch the battery covers to use the bike mount, but that's the only negative and one not worth anything other then mentioning (I hate extra parts to keep track of). This product was everything I expected and wanted it to be. It holds my GPS securely on my bike. The mount was easy to install on the bike and once you get the hang of matching the notches on the back of the GPS (actually the new bike mount battery cover) to the notches on the mount, the GPS slips on and off easily.
