Don't worry. Use the "auxiliary mount adapter" that comes with your GPS unit, may be you have dropped it into the box. This adapter attaches to the GPS unit easily,screwing it on the back of the original battery cover, don't remove it, and don't replace it with the bike mount cover, it is useless. Now you can install the Etrex either on the handlebar mount or on the Suction Mounting Bracket. You don't need to buy anything else.Customer Review: Durable and easy to use.

The bracket installed easily on 7/8" motorcycle handlebars. There was no noticeable vibration at speed. It held the unit securely, even through a 40 mph lowside crash.I did not have an oppportunity to test the water resistance of the replacement battery cover. I don't see this as a problem for my intended usage of the product.
Overall, an excellent product, well worth the money. It'll be going on my new handlebars...

The previous comment mentions the replacement battery door. my etrex came with a little clip that screwed on to the back of the existing etrex door so there was no need to replace. I can then slide in and out of the bike mount and car mount very easily. the tab goes on and off with a coin so no "tool" is needed. it doesn't seem to get in the way during normal use - it does fit in to the neoprene case but a bit more snug.Customer Review: Excellent mount, works well

This mount comes in two seperate pieces, an adapter that screws onto the handlebar and a battery case that snaps onto the adapter and the GPS. The result is an excellent fit which is secure and will prevent the GPS from falling off when riding over any terrain. The battery case is interchangable with the other Garmin mounts and works well. I just received my GPS mount, it was very easy to install on the bike. Getting the new battery cover on the GPS was a bit tricky but worked. The GPS unit snaps right on to the handlebar mount and can be taken off very easily. I ride mostly on paved trails and the unit worked fine the entire time. Would recommend for anyone who has an ETrex GPS and goes biking a lot.
