This was all I needed to get the most out of my new GPS...plus it was on sale. The beauty of the 2008 version is that you don't have to have the DVD in the computer to load onto your GPS. This eats up more harddrive, but saves a lot of hassle if you're like me and like to put those things away into "permanent storage"Customer Review: Very Pleased

I purchased this product to use for hunting and scouting but until that time of yeat gets here I have been using it for Geocaching among a variety of other things. I have the Garmin Vista C, with the earlier version Mapsource software. I found the new 2008 a real plus. I drove from Nevada to Ohio, used my laptop and my Garmin together. It is simple to use and is accurate, go for it. I can't wait to use some of the other features.Customer Review: Best of Mapsource

Topo 2008 seems to combine the discontinued Topo and the current Roads and Recreation software, plus it adds many other features like 911 addresses. Another advantage to the DVD installation is that you do not need to use the DVD when running the program. Great stuff!Customer Review: Very Good Topo Map Data Base

I use this software on my Garmin etrex hand held GPS for hiking. No matter where I hike the map base covers fire roads, or any well established hiking trails. It shows streams as well as any other bodies of water, etc. Very pleased with map data base.
