The TOPO 2008 is a great addition to my GPS. I use my GPS for hiking, the TOPO 2008 is preloaded with quite a few trails. It does not list all of them, but there are plenty to keep me busy. The trail maps are quite accurate. The one downfall is that TOPO does not auto route. If you purchase the CityNavigator, then you can route to different locations. I highly recommend the TOPO program to any hiking enthusiast.Customer Review: As advertised

Everything I expected. Now, I have the topos I need loaded on my GPS and I no longer need to carry topo maps. Be advised, you can only load a portion of the US at one time. Given the file size of the topo software, the GPS doesn't have adequate memory capactity to load the entire US topo. However, you can select to load and delete the topos as needed. One last item, Amazon had the best price!!

If you get a Garmin (recommend the 60 CSX) GPS, you have to get this software in order to go backpacking. It is very detailed, very accurate (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS), and simple to use. I will never be caught outside in the wilderness again without this. It is as vital to me as my water purification, and fire starting flint. Although I feel the prices for these Garmin maps are way too expensive they do work well with my Garmin 60CSx GPS. To avoid any install or operational problems I just bit the bullet and bought their map. So everytime I use the GPS now, it works perfectly and that's worth a lot to me to have that kind of confidence in my gear.Customer Review: Garmin Mapsource Topo U.S. 2008

The Mapsource software was just like advertised, Product does everything plus more than I need. Price was great, but shipping was pains takingly slow (eight days), the product shipped from Missouri, and I live in Kentucky (one state away) that was an unreasonable amount of time. Payment was easy with fair communications.
