Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Forerunner Quick Release KitCustomer Review: Perfect for cycling use Summary: 5 Stars
I had been wearing my Garmin Forerunner 305 on my wrist during cycling outings and it was sometimes hazardous for me to check the data while in motion. This bike mount is the perfect answer! It mounts on the handlebars where your eyes can easily see the info on the Forerunner display without having to ride one-handed. Much safer. The mount itself is plastic, but the Garmin 'head' snaps in securely and is easy enough to remove. The Velcro wrist strap that comes with this kit replaces the Forerunner's original plastic wrist strap and is much easier to adjust. Setting up the bike mount was easy. The instructions were clear and everything I needed was included in the kit. I'm very pleased with this product and use it several times a week.
Customer Review: like it Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this when my plastic strap broke off my garmin. I was very happy to find that this product was available, as it was right before a race, and I really didn't want to have to purchase a new watch. I really liked this product. I like the velcro strap more than the original plastic one (though it is a bit too long for my wrist) it is much easier to take off, and put back on. It did take me a little while to figure out to put it all together; directions would have been nice, but I figured it out eventually. You do have to get used to taking the watch off the base to charge it, but it is pretty simple and not a big deal. This worked really well for me. I would definitely recommend it.
Customer Review: This Mounting Kit Works Great! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about concerning the device popping out of the cradle. If that's the case, then the user obviously did not install is correctly. There's no way mine is popping out. The cradle secures the device very well. It's even hard to get it off until you get the hang of it. Or maybe Garmin has redesigned the cradle. But there's no danger whatsoever of the device popping out.
It's very convenient and easily switches back and forth. I used it today for a bike ride and then popped it off and put it on my wrist for the run. The velcro strap is also a big improvement over the plastic wrist strap that comes with the 305.
Customer Review: If I had only known Summary: 5 Stars
Great product, better than expected. I only wish someone (Garmin or Amazon)would have given a better description of what it does and how it works - I would have bought it a lot sooner, so here it goes. First you remove the original wristband that came with the Garmin. Attach the included clip to the bike hadlebars with the plastic ties and then you can easily attach and detach your garmin 305 to the clip, it just snaps in. If you want to use it for running, you snap it in the included velcro wristband. I haven't used it for running yet but I think the velcro wristband seems mmore comfortable than than the original rubber wristband anyway. No regrets.
Customer Review: Buy it just to get rid of the cheesey plastic strap that came on your Forerunner Summary: 5 Stars
If I had known how much better I'd like the flexible velcro strap than the cheesey plastic strap that comes on the Forerunner, I'd have bought this product long before I ever decided to try the Forerunner on my bike. The plastic strap that comes with the Forerunner was always a little too loose or a little too tight, and when you sweat on it it gets slimey and slides around all over the place. But this velcro strap is infinitely adjustable and sits nicely against the skin without chaffing or sliding. I just used it for a marathon and it "disappeared" in use and became invisible to me, just as you want your equipment to do in that situation.
