The Garmin Forerunner 50 is a great product and does what it's supposed to do. It would be nice, however, if Amazon would ship with batteries that weren't dead as I have had to go buy a new battery for the footpod that didn't work right out of the box.
Otherwise this product has really helped tailor my runs and workouts to my actual level of physical fitness and I'm not overtraining anymore.

Buy Garmin if you want your heart rate monitor to work with your Mac.
Although it works without problems, an iPod/iTunes combo it is not. Setup and getting everything to work could be a lot easier in my opinion.
Garmin connect is a real asset and very satisfying to keep track of your runs ovr time.

This garmin is my second tarining monitor and for 54 US$ it is worth every penny of it, you can work out and then monitor your training with the ant software. I wish I coul buy the 300 US$ Garmin pro version with GPS to make it the all around best training companion.Customer Review: Great monitor but the Foot Pod doesn't work

The product has more features for runners that has really helped me change the way I train Would definitely suggest for anybody who is serious about running.
