I own a Garmin Streetpilot 2620 and purchased this external speaker to replace the broken tip on the original external speaker purchased in 2004. The good news is that Garmin has finally redesigned the tip in this current version of the external speaker. However, there is a much cheaper solution...
Garmin offers a "External speaker repair kit" from their 1-800 customer service that can replace the same parts. I purchased this kit which includes all the possible parts that could possibly break on your external speaker (tip, plastic screw, a fuse, and the spider clip).
Garmin finally got it right with this model of the speaker.
