Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Edge 305 Bicycle GPS Navigator with Heart Rate Monitor and Speed/Cadence Sensor

Customer Review: Finally, a bike computer worth the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used all of the latest and greatest bike computers for ten years and this is the first one I would say is worth the price. With the big caveat of not being a power meter, this computer has everything you could want in one package with a great pc download and interface.

What I find especially enjoyable is that this computer can functions well at any level of interaction. You can do intervals and monitor your cadence or you can just go out and spin and not think about it. Either way, the computer is recording all of the data for your log when you want to look at it.

Customer Review: Garmin Edge 305 GPS bundle first time use
Summary: 5 Stars

Words alone cannot describe its usefulness. This product should not be rated in stars, but rather in smiley faces.

For a little over $200, this is product is one of the perfect gifts for mountain bikers.

Pros: Easy to use, navigate & setup (To quote Geico "it's so easy, a caveman can do it"), small enough to carry on your bike or in your pocket, large enough to read, customizable screenshots, sturdy case.
Cons: The only downside is the long time it takes to recharge the unit, but then again it's worth the wait.

Customer Review: Nice and worth the money
Summary: 5 Stars

no problem so far. I already used it for 5K since I bought in June07. No battery replaced yet and no weak signal for cadence, Heart Monitor and GPS. Very accurate for distance and speed. I compared with the car odometer and didn't get a huge variation. At maximum for 200km rode by car, i got 2Km the delta to Garmin. The speed was very close to the car odometer. I recommend this even the Garmin already launched the EDGE 705 (color screen and SD card with GPS maps - for me this extra features is not usefull for my training and competition)

Customer Review: A great find
Summary: 5 Stars

What a great tool. Not only does it make running/biking more interesting but it also makes training more effective. Although it is designed for biking, the unit is small enough where you can run with it in your hand without it being difficult. It really is helpful to be able to watch all of this information as it's happening.

The only thing I wish it had was background maps for the display unit (GPS). The GPS acquires quickly and stays locked on, even in dense areas. Highly recommended!

Customer Review: Garmin 305 GPS Bundle (305, HRM & Cadence)
Summary: 5 Stars

Fantastic device. My first cyclocomputer with GPS and I couldn't be happier. I'm a roadie, but this unit is transferable btw bikes, could in a pinch be used in a vehicle (but doesn't include maps real-time).

Pros: Customizable screens, configurable for user's training profiles, Garmin reputation, friend's recommendations, GPS accuracy and web integration.

Cons: None so far, I've had it for a month and battery life is quite good, even when paired with the HRM and Cadence sensors.
