Customer Review: Extends the useful life of my Garmin

I was about to retire my Garmin StreetPilot C340 when the suction cup mount lost its grip, so I ordered this dashboard mount to extend the life of the GPS unit. It works fine. The mount consists of a floppy tripod of metal weights encased in rubber, which manages to stay in place on any part of the dashboard that comes close to being flat. I've only had the mount topple over once when I had to brake hard. I had to get accustomed to using lighter pressure on the touchscreen, but I'm now used to it. An added benefit: I can simply hide the entire GPS unit elsewhere in the car when I'm parked in a public space, reducing the chance of catching the eye of a burglar.Customer Review: Excellent product

Purchased this after the suction mounting that came with the garmin c340 no longer worked. This is a vast improvement. All you do is latch the GPS into the mount and then place it on the dashboard. The unit uses the weight of the GPS along with some friction on the bottom of the device to keep the GPS in place. It's so simple yet very effective. I was a bit skeptical at first. But it works like a charm. I'm a fairly aggressive driver. I shift lanes, take turns at high speeds, and sometimes brake hard and this unit never moves from the dashboard. The only knock on Garmin is that they do not include this mounting device with the GPS at the initial purchase.Customer Review: excellent product

When i first opened the box after getting it, i was very skeptical. It looked like it would fly away after a normal turn. Lo and behold i have been using it for a month and it is a great investment. I can easily take it from car to car. You cannot do that with the mount that comes with Garmin products. It basically stands on the top of your dash like a table lamp. If you want to move it, just pickup and go. The intial setup takes just 30 seconds at best. Snap it in place and it's ready. If garmin wants some highly satisfied customers, they would make this the standard accesory that comes with their GPS units. i saw this product a long time ago & was so worried about the fact that it's not attached to anything.
i finally had to buy something after i suffered so long from my suction cup. the suction cup used to fall all the time & became more
hazardous than anything that i would think of, so i decided to try this.
we went in lots of rough areas & it almost didn't move from it's place, we use the gps for 2 cars & it's very easy to change it from a car to another & it's very easy to move it inside the car so that the person on the passenger seat or in any other seat can use it & return it back to it's place without lots of distraction

What a convenient, portable, usable item. No sticky pads on my dash or screw holes that I don't want. Now I don't have to put up with my GPS having to be permamently mounted where I really can't see it. When we bought a new car we found that the Garmin mount from the old car wouldn't stick again, we thought we would have to drill a hole or something to make the old mount work in the new car. My brother came to my rescue by showing us his dashboard Garmin mount and letting us try it for a weekend. We were totally sold and ordered one of our own right away. Wonderful for the ease of use in other vehicles, too. Now it is just grab and go!!
