Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Dashboard Mount for StreetPilot c310, c320, c330 and c340 (010-10613-00)Customer Review: Should be the standard for the product. Summary: 5 Stars
I think that this method of mounting for the Garmin Navigational unit should be the "standard" way, and throw that window mount out! My window mount unit never did stick to the windshield, and the continuous falls ended up stretching the power cord out of the mount(I had looped it around the mirror several times to prevent it from hitting the floor). The windshield mount also never allowed the passenger to make changes to the route during travel. Now the unit can be passed to anyone for route programing and then placed back on the dash for the driver. Another benefit of the dashboard mount is he variety of positions it can be placed into, IE. anywhere on the dash, in front of the speedometer, or on the center console. This really helps with finding a spot where the reflections don't blank out the screen.
Customer Review: Love it from day one! Summary: 5 Stars
The base just arrived today and I went to try it out. I have a 2003 Honda Accord with a dome dash and I first tried placing the base and Garmin c330 in the center and found that that was too distracting, I then placed it on the left side of the dash, next to the frame and in-between the dome of the dash, and it fit perfect! There was no distraction like the center section and it stayed put on the freeway, through the city and over speed bumps. I love it. I will keep the suction cup holder also for when I know that I will be going into areas where I do not want to take the risk of someone seeing something on my dash. The suction cup holder fits great in my beverage cup holder and it stays very secure there also and the tension holders for the beverages lock the Garmin in place so that it does not tip over.
Customer Review: FAR better than the windshield mount Summary: 5 Stars
Service people broke off the windshield mount which I'd used simply because it came with the unit, so I needed a replacement. I'd read about lots of car break-ins based simply on the fact that the mount was there.... thieves assuming the unit was somewhere inside the vehicle. So since I was in need of a new mount, I went with the friction mount, and think it's terrific. Yes, the unit acts a bit like a bobblehead doll on our twisty-turny mountain roads, but it comes to equilibrium very quickly, and is always readable. The glare factor also seems to be less of a factor, probably because it's easier to position it. And of course, there's no tell-tale windshield mount (which is extremely difficult to remove) to attract thieves. It was actually a good thing I was forced to look for a new mount.
Customer Review: Fantabulous Mount! Summary: 5 Stars
The dashboard mount is one of the best items they've created. Even though it's not the most glamorous mount, it definitely does the job that the original mount couldn't handle. The mount does not move at all!
I no longer have to be concerned about my GPS monitor dropping from the windshield because of the heat. I also am no longer concerned about the possibility of the unit breaking due to the numerous drops on the car floGarmin Dashboard Mount for StreetPilot c310, c320, c330 and c340 (010-10613-00)or. I wish I had known about this product from the time I received it as a gift. In addition, the cost was not overpriced. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
Customer Review: Love this item!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I had just gotten the Garmin C340 Nav system (with suction cup mount) when I found out that it is illegal to adhere anything to your windshield in California. Also, I leased my car so I didn't want to use the super-stick alternate dash mount it came with. I looked around for a weighted dash mount. When I came across this one, I wasn't sure that it would be sturdy enough to hold the C340... but I was thrilled at the results. The three-pronged "Mickey Mouse ears" are heavy enough to hold the system in place without marking up the finish. My dash top is relatively flat so it works great (however, on curvier dashes it can slide a bit). It's also flexible enough to be tossed in my glove compartment. The "ears" bend right up. This is a great item!
