I have to say this Garmin Dashboard Mount is exactly what I needed. I currently use it with my StreetPilot in my 2004 Acura TL. I was concerned that the dashboard mount would not hold and would slip and slide based on some on the negative reviews I read on Amazon prior to purchasing. Well I have not experienced any problems. I have used it without problem on streets and highways, accelarating through turns and with some sharp stops and in all situations my Garmin and Dashmount stayed in place. I also wish this was the default mount provided with the StreetPilot versus the window mount which doesn't keep the Garmin in place I found.
I also like the Dashboard mount as it makes it more convenient for me to take my Garmin and use in rental cars when I travel for business.
I would highly recommend the Garmin Dashboard Mount.

I went to the west coast (CA NV AZ) for a vacation and this came just in time before our flight. I drove to and from the airports, Vegas to the Canyon to Sedona, and SF to Tahoe to Muir Woods and back and to Salinas-Carmel-Monterey then back to SF again. This dash mount performed excellently. No problem even with sudden breaks. It just moved a little, perhaps 1/8" even on those SF 45-degree inclines. No need for a velcro or glue. It's highly transportable, like my GPS. As long as there's room on the dashboard, any c340 is perfectly safe. It came with a cigarette lighter cord and charged my c340 too. The suction cup with my c340 does not hold very long, maybe 30 min., max. Although it is worth the extra money, this should have been included in the GPS package, in my opinion. Since my Garmin is no longer produced most big box stores told me to buy a new, updated model. I didn't need the expense. Mine was working perfectly well but the wire from the window mount broke off.I would venture to say this wire could only last so long. Why didn't Garmin offer this option when product was purchased? Much better than the suction cup mount because when your windows are not squeaky clean the suction cup doesn't adhere. Go over a bump and the Garmin is in your lap. Also the sticker (which is permanent)used for sitting it on the dashboard was also not an option as I have a leased car. Now my Garmin can be placed anywhere on the dashboard or in the bump out over my radio. I personally did not like hanging it on the window as it can block your view. If you want an easy removal, just pick it up and stow away in glovebox.Customer Review: I love this GPS except...

This product is excellent. The directions have been very helpful to me in my work in the field. Unfortunately, The windhsield mount broke. However, i had bought the dashboard mount which i had initially intended to return, and opened it one day when i was desperate to be able to use the GPS. The dashboard mount is a lot easier and much better than the windshield mount it comes with. I always felt uncomfortable with the windshield mount discturbing my view of the mirror.No it wasn't in front of the mirror ofcourse but the view is not as comfortable as when it is on the dashboard. I think looking at the GPS on the windshiled takes more time and concentration while driving. I think the dashboard mechanism is safer at least for me. I would recemmend it. I think the dashboard mount is the one that should be providied with the GPS.Customer Review: Garmin c340

Excellent choice. I was confused when first deciding on a street pilot for my husband. He is very fussy and it was a big deal to choose the best product for the money. I am so glad I chose the c340. It had all the features that I knew would interest my husband. Some of the street pilots only say turn left or turn right without announcing the name of the road. This little unit does everything. It does not have an mp3 player, but didn't want one. That is why I chose this model. Also I purchased the tripold weighted mount, because I read other reviews where the one that fastened to the windshield had fallen after hitting bumps. So I didn't want to take that chance and purchased the extra mount. I would recommend this model to anyone shopping for a street piolot or GPS.
