The windshield mount that came with my c330 worked well until this winter when it began falling off on a regular basis. (I suspect the extreme temperature changes we've experienced in Georgia had something to do with it.) After catching my GPS before it hit my vehicle's floor for the third time I decided I needed a better solution. I found the Garmin Dash Mount on Amazon for a fair price and decided to give it a try.
I am very pleased with the Dash Mount. It is very easy to adjust the unit to the perfect viewing position. It's very easy to move from vehicle to vehicle. It's also easy to move out of the view of prying eyes when my vehicle is unattended. I have taken several sharp, fast turns and the unit has not budged.
My only complaint is that this is the mounting system that should come along with the unit when purchased. Every time the unit is turned on the unit displays a warning of the dangers of trying to operate the GPS while driving. Have you ever tried catching a flying GPS that has just come detached from a windshield while driving?
I would highly recommend this to anyone with a c320, c330 or c340.

I ordered this mount two days ago after my ancient StreetPilot's usb port broke... which is, now, months after the suction cup mount flung itself from my windshield, thereby breaking off the round plug power port. I truly wish the friction mount came with the unit instead of the suction cup mount. The friction mount is more user-friendly and, actually, must safer since I can tell when the unit is sliding rather than simply flying off at a moment's notice. The mount, cradle, and power cable all worked perfectly with my c330 and, as I backed down and drove up my steep driveway, nothing moved. Now, instead of leaving the mount attached to the windshield when parked, I can simply move it to my car floor. Safer all around! The only negatives I have is that the little pads glued to the bottom of this mount are not very secure. I predict that I will need to re-glue these myself but that is a small price to pay, if you ask me! I also think that these mounts are WAY too expensive, especially considering that we are having to purchase these to replace broken mounts due to faulty design.Customer Review: Stays put, amazingly, during all driving

I purchased this weighted mount through Amazon for our Garmin c340, figuring it could take advantage of the decent real estate my car's dashboard offers - my spouse's car has a storage compartment in the middle of her dashboard, so the window suction cup mount works best there.
After a half day of driving literally through mountains and cities, over hills, around tight turns and over various styles of potholes . . . it may have moved 1/2 inch during one horrendously hard dip into a broken road surface. That's it. What began as minor concern for the mount sliding around turned into the assumption that it was staying put until I lifted it off and stowed it for a future trip. I felt extremely comfortable with this weighted mount after our trip to pickup and deliver other, heavy items. In fact, the mount never caused worry - the heavy items in my trunk sliding around were a real cause for concern. All the while, the GPS stayed where I placed it.
Recommended as either a secondary or primary mount for a Garmin c340.

I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon. The upper dash on this car simply is not deep enought for the "feet" of the product to make sufficient contact. So, I purchased the Nav-Mat product for my c340. This Nav-Mat is like a "bean bag" construction with a flat disc in the middle. The Nav-Mat with attached c340 fits perfectly in front of, and a little to the right, of the "message" center on the lower part of the dash. Clear view of the sky. This arrangement has worked perfectly. Five stars to the Garmin Dashboard Mount because I gave it to a friend and she simply loves its performance (on a Honda CR-V). I would strongly urge Avalon owners of this series of automobile not to purchase the Garmin product, but consider the Nav-Mat instead. The Garmin product advertised appears to work fine - but not on an Avalon. The Nav-Mat has a "mouse pad" type of bottom and is just heavy enough not to move at all. An added bonus, IMO, is that my c340 sits even lower on it's Nav-Mat while still "seeing" the sky for the satelites.Customer Review: Grips well, looks cool too

I recently bought the street pilot 340 and bought this mount because the device needed to be transferred easily between one car and the other easily (and without leaving nasty marks on the windshield, which I hate!)
Most reviews on here tell how great this device is, so I won't labor the point. I wanted to let people know though that, according to the Street Pilot manual, sucker/window mounted devices are illegal in certain states (California and Minnesota I think are the ones referred to) so not only is this a fine purchase, it may be a necessary one for some people.
And, by the way, this mount looks so much cooler than the window sucker - it is very much in keeping with the styling in my Mazda 3 and my Honda Element (both of which have deep, flat dashes.) Also, sitting the device away from the window not only means your view is less obscured while driving, but the unit is easier to reach to use the touch-screen controls. Highly recommended for all the good reasons!
