Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Carrying Case for Rino Series (010-10117-02)

Customer Review: A good protection for your handheld GPS as the only or extra case
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this case to go along with an eTrex GPS. It has plenty of room for the GPS and the "quick reference card," and I can even wedge the car charger in the case if I take my time. For added protection on a snowmobile or ATV etc. it seems great. I bought a Gilsson case which totally encloses the GPS in neoprene and clear plastic over the buttons and screen. I would recommend that if you are only going to buy one case for outdoor use. If your using the eTrex in your car or for walking or for added protection (I don't care to beat on $250 technological equipment...) I think the couple extra bucks for some extra protection or a light duty or spare bag is well spent. If it was a hair larger it would've been perfect to put the car adapter in with the neoprene case, but I didn't design it =)

Customer Review: I use it with the Garmin GPS-MAP 60CSx
Summary: 4 Stars

I have bought this carrier case for use with the Garmin GPS-MAP 60CSx.

It offers good padding & protection for the Garmin unit, but note that it is primarily a travel case. I use it to protect the unit from scratches and dents when it is in a bag full of other gadgets. You cannot see the screen or access the buttons when the Garmin is packed away.

If I'm being picky, the case is perhaps a little long & loose for the 60CSx, but then I'm sure it was built to fit any of the other Garmin units which might be slightly larger.

Exact Case Size = 18cm x 8cm x 4cm (Outer Dimensions)

Customer Review: Adequate for the job
Summary: 4 Stars

I got this case for my Garmin 60csx and it is working fairly well. For other 60c users here's some thoughts:

1. It is a bit roomy.
2. The thickness of the combined nylon exterior and felt interior is somewhat thin to offer any significant protection in a drop.
3. It is roomy and can probably hold a bit more than just the gps unit...perhaps the cigarette adaptor.

Overall I gave it a four stars, because I was expecting thicker protection.

Customer Review: good little case
Summary: 4 Stars

I like the case but would have preferred one that had the ability to be used on a shoulder strap (as of a daypack). This case works fine on a belt, but I think that an attachment design which would have allowed use on a shoulder strap would significantly increase its usefulness. Construction is excellent, padding is adequate, fit is perfect. I think that a more imaginative attachment design would have been appreciated by many.

Customer Review: Field case - Garmin handheld GPS
Summary: 4 Stars

It is the same as the case for the Rino 110. I really would like Garmin to offer a clip on case for the belt rather one which I have to unfasten my belt to attach. Sometimes my pants drop when my belt is unfastened. Velcro would be nicer than the zipper. But, all in all, it does the job intended.
