Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Carrying Case for GPSMAP 60 SeriesCustomer Review: Peace of mind for the 60CSx Summary: 4 Stars
The case gives me peace of mind about throwing the 60CSx into the pack or leaving it on the floor of the car. As others have noted, yes, the buttons are a little tougher to press with the clear plastic screen, but this doesn't bother me, and I'd rather not risk damage to this expensive device should I drop it! I don't believe the plastic will protect the screen if dropped directly onto a rock or something from, say, waist height, but for your everyday scuffs/scratches, it's fine.
Customer Review: Carrying Case Summary: 4 Stars
This carrying case does what it is supposed to - protect the expensive electronic device inside it while allowing full functionality. I am very pleased that I can easily press all of the buttons through the case. The only drawback to this item is that there is no access to the back data port and power port. This is a minor inconvenience, but maybe the next generation case could have a flap on the back for access, as I use both of these ports regularly
Customer Review: Fits like a second skin Summary: 4 Stars
The 60CSx screen scratch very easily. This case gives excellent protection against the elements, or in your backpack. Just keep in mind that USB and 12V adapter ports are not accessible when use this case. Garmin Bracket doesn't work with case neither. It is so close to be the perfect case.
I'll use this case when I'm out there against the elements, and use 010-10117-02 carrying case plus a scratch guard film for in car use.
Customer Review: Get it! Summary: 4 Stars
After scrambling over some rocks and putting a huge scratch on the screen of my 400 some dollar GPS I decided that carrying cases were not just for posers anymore. :)
Pros:
1. Covers all the vital parts.
2. Sturdy, well made.
3. Little to no loss of screen clarity.
Cons:
1. Have to take cover off every time you want to sync maps or replace batteries.
2. Buttons are much harder to press.
Customer Review: Garmin Protective GPS Case Review Summary: 4 Stars
When you spend $400 on a GPS, you need a field protection case. If you take your GPS out in the woods without a case, you are going to regret it. You are going to drop it. It will get dirty. This case offers scratch and bump protection. It is the cheapest insurance you can get for a GPS. The only disadvantage is that it does not provide access for GPS downloads. So I cut a little hole in the case to solve that problem.
