I had a etrex vista before the GPSMAP 60C, I had it on the handle bars of my bicycle and riding about 25mph when suddenly it fell off and swung by the wrist strap right in to the fork and got wedged between the tire and the steel. It made a bunch of grinding noise and stopped me pretty quick. Needless to say the case was completely destroyed, the fabric was torn and the tire melted the plastic in front of the unit's screen. When I took out the unit there was not even a scratch. This case is little less accessible but in my opinion, completely worth it.
