Customer Review: Power cable for Garmin Zumo 450

I gave this item stars even though it turned out to not be what I needed. I didn't think it was fair to rate it lower just because it was the wrong cable for my particular application.
The Garmin Zumo GPS is made for motorcycle use. I also wanted to use my Zumo in my car. I had decided to get an extra motorcycle cradle so that I could leave one permanently on my bike, and just move the GPS itself back and forth from my car. The only problem is that I needed a power cable for the cradle in my car, and I didn't realize that there is a different type of cradle for car use. If I'd used that cradle, the power cord I got from Amazon would have worked. As it is, I got another power cable that's meant for the cycle mount (that has a wire wire meant to be hard wired into a power source) and put a Radio Shack cigarette type plug on the end of it so that it plugs into my accessory outlet on my car just like a regular GPS.
The only problem with returns to Amazon is that you have to pay return postage which is a bummer.

This is perfect for a replacement or as a second power cord to move from vehicle to vehicle. It is made by Garmin so you know it is going to work with no problems. I would recommend to anybody and I have had no problems. Also, as "Cake Lady" stated earlier in her review, it does not have the FM tuner built into the power plug as it does not state that it does. I do not know why somebody would think that it is a FM tuner/power cord when it states nothing about FM tuning abilities for the traffic allerts, but I guess it happens to people that do not read the description. Again, Great Product at a great price. Enjoy! Also, just fyi, the package states the following as I was not absolutely sure for what products it will work with...so, works with; nuvi 5000,800 series, 705T series, 700 series, 600 series (I have the 660), and zumo series. ALTHOUGH THE DESCRIPTION FOR THIS PRODUCT SPECIFIES THAT IT IS FOR THE 510 AND 550, IT IS ALSO DESIGNED FOR THE 760, WHICH I USED IT WITH. SINCE WE WERE GOING TO BE FLYING, THEN RENTING A CAR, I WANTED SOMETHING MORE COMPACT THAN THE TRAFFIC RECEIVER THAT COMES WITH THE 760, PLUS I HAD DOUBTS THAT TRAFFIC INFO WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN THE RURAL MIDWEST. SOME OF THE REVIEWS THAT I READ BEFORE PURCHASING THIS ADAPTER, INDICATED THAT IT WAS RATHER FLIMSY AND DIFFICULT TO INSERT AND REMOVE. I DIDN'T FIND THIS TO BE THE CASE AT ALL. THE UNIT SEEMS TO BE PRETTY WELL MADE, AND SLIPPED EASILY AND SECURELY INTO THE LIGHTER SOCKET AND THE POWER OUTLET IN THE RENTAL CAR. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FOR ALL APPLICABLE GARMIN UNITS, AND PARTICULARLY AS A MORE COMPACT ALTERNATIVE TO THE TRAFFIC RECEIVERS SUPPLIED WITH SOME UNITS.Customer Review: Not as good as the original cable, but does the job

I purchased this cable for my Nuvi after the adapter that came with it broke. The tip came off without my knowing it and the tip and fuse were lost (this sounds like a common problem, so be wary). This cable does what it's supposed to do in that it supplies power to the Nuvi in the car; unfortunately it lacks the indicator lights on the original which tell you when the unit is charging or running on direct power. Given the low price of this replacement cable I'm not surprised, but be aware that if you are buying this cable as a replacement to the one that ships with the Nuvi that it is a bare-bones charger only. Otherwise I'm satisfied with the product so far. Good low price for an OEM product; go with this one over 3rd party cables.Customer Review: Garmin Replacement Charger

I purchased the replacement charger for the Garmin Nuvi 770. The product is superior to the original since it has metal parts and not the cheap plastic. It was well worth the purchase. Always go to Garmin site to match up the model numbers before you order from a second source. The 770 Nuvi was not listed on the package but the Garmin site verified that the product was the same. Don't even try to repair the old part, there is not a glue out there that will hold it together. I received the part 2 days before the estimated delivery date (standard ground, no upgrade)
