CD map install works well with easy to follow onlinne instructions. The update does takes some time as the program warns - took over an hour on my Vista PC. CD version preferrable to download and Amazon's price was better than purchasing through Garmin. Update requires key code that is specific for your Garmin unit. Can't buy one update for multiple units...that's one quibble - you have to buy a full update for each unit; there is no discount or multiple unit purchase option.Customer Review: Worth it for me

The ability to upgrade your GPS is one of the things that make it a great product. For $60 per year, it is like getting a new GPS each time.
Upgrade was easy. Only problem was with the amount of traffic on the Garmin site. This was a problem since the GPS must be connected to your computer which in turn must be connected to the Garmin website. If any of these connections fail, then the upgrade fails. This means that you start the procedure over again.

I had not updated the map on my Garmin Streetpilot 7200 since I purchased it. I was concerned that I would have problems with the update on this older/discontinued unit, especially since the package said Nuvi, although the info said it was compatable. The update was flawless with no problems. The updated map is definately better; finds sites that I couldn't with the previous map. The map update worked flawlessly, once I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS in order to get the CD setup started! It did take about 1 1/2 hours to download the new maps from the CD to the Nuvi via the front USB connection. All in all, a painless process. And, since the product from Amazon is about half the price of that from Garmin, well worth it. Oh, yes. I tested it with an address I knew was not in the older maps. This is a great software to keep your Garmin up to date on the roadway changes, and numerous other information available in your Garmin GPS. This is a life time upgrade with 4 per year updates. Update are a bit slow for the 56 mps DSL service I have, but with faster service naturally it should down load faster. Mine took about 8 Hours but it uploaded 2.09MB to completely correct changes.
