I bought the iKross 3-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Screen Protector when I bought my iPod Touch. I got this for 1 penny with a rubberized case to protect the backside of the Touch. The combo has been a great addition to my iPod Touch purchase because it gives me peace of mind when I "touch" my Touch with grubby fingers. Now, I don't worry about that. They give you a packet of screen protectors -- enough to protect the Touch for a long time. I'm on my first one still. They "install" very easily, adhering to the Touch's screen with some sort of adhesive that's not sticky, per se, but it "sticks" to the Touch's screen. Hard to explain, easy to install. Didn't seem like it would leave any residue when removed and you can't even tell it's there after you put it on the screen. For the money, it was a no-brainer. Go for it!
Rubberized Case to go with it: Speck PixelSkin Rubberized Case for iPod touch 2G (Black) - get this, too. It also fits the 3G (new) iPod Touch, which is what I have here.
Amazon's "buy all three" suggestion brought these to mind, and with the $20 I saved buying the iPod Touch on Amazon instead of [...] (my usual place to purchase Apple products), I got the other two protection items for FREE. Can't beat that!

The deal seemed too good to be true. Only $3 for three reusable screen protectors? I decided to buy them anyway. $3 wasn't too much of a detriment to my budget.
I have yet to regret my purchase. The screen protectors arrived two days after I placed my order, and in decent condition. I was a bit dissatisfied with the fact that there was dust on the protectors already, but I applied them with soap and water, so that wasn't an issue.
They are fairly stiff pieces of film, so they are scratch-resistant to some extent. They don't smudge too easily either. They fit both the 1G and 2G Touches, but they leave a small perimeter uncovered, so these are best used with a case.
Overall, these are a great package for their price. From some angles, they look oily, but that can be disregarded.
tl;dr Version: You pay $3 for three screen protectors that fit both the 1G and 2G iPod Touches. They are durable and don't smudge easily, but they leave part of the device uncovered and look oily from certain angles. Overall, though, they offer excellent protection, and you can't really argue with the price tag.

I bought this screen protector because I have an Ipod Touch with and outer sleeve, but no screen protector itself. This product works exactly like it should. I've dealt with magnetic style protectors before and know first hand that dust can be a burden getting off if any get trapped under the screen. Requires tape and gloves if you are new and don't know how to handle the protector. Even though it doesn't perfectly fit, I don't mind because the outer sleeve I have covers all the unprotected parts from the screen. It even feels like it would without the protective cover. My friend has those cheap sticky kinds and you can totally tell it's plastic and cheap. This, you can only tell there's a cover is if you remove the outer sleeve or hold it at an angle against the light and see a rainbowy thing. Great product. Works well. (I purposely drew on it with a pencil with no lead out.... basically I was lightly carving over the fingerprint oil that was left on the screen. I normally wouldn't take the time to post a review for an item so inexpensive, but I felt the need to do so in this case. I just bought my iTouch last week and this is its first screen protector so I can't compare it to any other one. But, what I can say is that this screen protector was extremely easy to install. It did not leave any air bubbles on the screen. It had a clear protective plastic on each side of the screen protector. All I had to do was to peal off the first plastic protector (conveniently labeled #1). Place the screen protector on my iTouch and then remove the second plastic protector. You might think that the plastic protectors are trivial but they prevent you from scratching or smearing you screen protector during installation. The screen protector is very rigid and therefor feels very durable. Anyway, I was really impressed with this screen protector... oh and did I forget to mention that they shipped 3 in the bag for the price of $4+change. I was only expecting 1.

this was the buy of the century for me!! i bought 3 packs, figuring they would have a limited life & would need replacing with regularity - how wrong that was. applies so simply i could not believe it. had used other screen protectors with other phones, this is way different. EXTREMELY thin, does not interfere with touch screen at all. liked it so much i gave 2 to a couple of students - they keep telling me how much they love it! easier to clean than the iPod touch screen and you can't even tell it's there. gave my itouch to a friend to 'play with' for several minutes & to see if it felt unusual or stiff. he thought it was unusually responsive but credited that to it's being an apple iPod touch. when i told him there was a screen protector on it, like me he couldn't believe it. and i cannot believe the price! buy a bunch, keep several for yourself and give the rest away to ipod touch users & you will make long lasting friendships - just don't tell them how little you spent!
