It eats up batteries fast, i suggest getting rechargables, and the antishock didn't work on some cds, but its great for $.... I've seen others for as much as $..., and it does work well. Many people complained about the headphones but i found nothing wrong with them. They didn't fit well at first, but if you put them on backwards they fit and work fine. The bass boost was kind of weak, but it worked ok. It is kind of flimsy and skips alot unless you put on the antishock. With it on its very good and doesn't skip no matter what you do. But i have found that it doesn't work on some cds for some reason, and its always the same ones. It starts skiping and then shuts off. I believe it has to do with how the songs are set up, when I looked on the bottom of the cd the ones that had the groves close together on the outer egde did not always work with the antishock.But if you left it still it works fine without the esp anyway. I lost the insturtions and i don't remember how the random thing works, but over all its a great player for a great price and i'm not complaining.Customer Review: Got What I Expected for a Good Price

I'm the mom of a 10-year-old who is just discovering his own tastes in music. I wanted a well-priced product for casual use - on the bus and in the car. He was thrilled with this item as a birthday present. From reading other reviews, I knew to get him extra earphones and batteries right off the bat. I got him a CaseLogic case to go with it so he has plenty of room to store CD's extra batteries, etc. He thinks it looks really cool. I am pleased. Thanks to all others that wrote reviews so I knew what to expect. If you are looking for a cool-looking item for a casual listener (no jogging, etc) this is a great deal, especially if you need the car kit (which I do).Customer Review: Lovin' it so far!

I just received my gpx discman and so far it has been working great. However, I agree with all the others who say that the headphones bring down the quality of the player. Since I just received my product yesterday, I'm probably going to go out and buy some other headphones.Aside from the quality of the headphones, they look a little silly too. The CD player looks awesome, I just think the headphones look a little crappy. All these complaints don't sound like I would give it a four, but the main unit, the cd player, works great. The ESP works well. I would recommend this unit if your willing to spend a few extra bux on some new headphones.

This cd player is excellent, although it isn't perfect. It's to your benefit to use the skip protection unless you're not moving. The headphones have less than average sound quality. Other than that, the cd player is great. The boost bass works very well. The player itself is surprisingly slim. It looks great, plays great, and, with a new pair of headphones (Sony - trust me on that) sounds great. It's priced quite nicely considering it comes with a car kit and AC adapter. If you're looking for a new cd player and don't want to spend too much, this is a great buy.Customer Review: Great CD player/headphones not

The GPX CD Player was a great gift for Christmas for my two teen aged girls. Its sleek style and fashionable color met their standards, all the while producing great sound. The anti- skip feature seems to be adequate. The headphones, on the other hand, while attractive, break quite easily right above the ear contacts (within 2 weeks of xmas). Trying to get replacements from GPX has been somewhat trying, as they want MONEY for them. I finally bought headphones that are actually sturdier and provide better quality.
