Only when you read the very small print on the box do you find any mention of "batteries not included" and the battery size (3 "AA" bateries). It wasn't until I got home and opened the box that I realized it didn't include the batteries. The LCD display is a little tough to read depending on the room lighting. i found the same thing at walmart after 2 months for 9.99 and I wanted to smack my head. Couldn't return it to amazon because it passed the time limit. However, works great. Easy to set up. I have no problems yet but I will repost if there is.Customer Review: Desktop Caller ID

This product works as advertised. It is a desktop Caller ID/Call Waiting ID unit that indicates just that. It is not good for seeing across the room, just for near the phone. Good value and easy to set up.Customer Review: Very nice unit

I have had trouble-free service from the caller ID since setting it up. The only problem was getting the batteries cover off. A jackhammer was barely adequate for the job.
