This is wonderful, I put my sons' spelling words in this, I have to get two more as I have four boys. It is wonderful at the definitions for 6-10 years old. This device has word scramble game, missing letter, tic tac toe and a few others. It shows you how to practice writing words in manuscript and cursive.

What I love most about this gadget, is that it illustrates how to write words in cursive. You can type in a word, see its definition, synonyms and antonyms, and how to actually write it in print and cursive. You can play games, and it has a rhyme finder, which is handy for a child writing poetry. I'm glad I bought it.Customer Review: Kid likes it and that's a good thing!

10 year old Kid uses the Franklin Talking Dictionary all the time. Got him more interested in spelling correctly. The fact that it talks back is more stimulating to him. It's easy to use; didn't have to show him how to use it. I recommend this dictionary to any parent looking to entice their child to spell correctly.Customer Review: IEP

My daughter has an IEP in school and this product was recommended by her teacher. She can use it while reading books when I am not around. If she types in the word she can't read then it will speak it back to her and she will have a better understanding of the book. I think its a great product. I bought this dictionary/spell corrector for my 10 year old daughter in hopes that she will rely on this for spelling help as opposed to my computer. =) Everything seems to work great, but I cannot get the back to screw on properly for holding the batteries. Other than that, great tool!
