I love this little guy. I was hesitant to buy it at first because it's so small and was worried about how much the picture/my hand would shake. It does affect it but it's still very worthwhile video. Especially if you're able to set it down to film. The battery life is fine. We've been using it off and on for a few weeks and are only now getting a low battery warning. It's so tiny it fits right in my purse or husbands pocket. Highly recommend it. The 30 minute time limit hasn't been a detterent for us since we usually only shoot for a minute or two and haven't taken it on any vacations where downloading could be a pain. I just picked up a Flip for a weeks trip down to Mexico. Thought it would be a nice substitute for an expensive and heavy camcorder. The Flip came through and made the trip! It really shone when the subjects were close (within 8 feet) and was able to capture the vibe of the situation. The picture clarity was excellent and the sound was good to about 5 feet. It didn't perform as well for landscape shots but those are best served by still cameras anyways. It did attract quite a bit of attention and the playback function was very easy to use. I would highly recommend this product as an inexpensive alternative to an expensive camcorder.Customer Review: quick and affordable

I purchased this little video to video quickly at work and home. I like to video students (with written approval) to show how accommodations and modifications can be made for students with special needs. Actually, it was at a special needs workshop that they shared how they utilized this video camcorder. Quickly, downloading can be made to your computer and/or laptop. It's so easy to use, my kids at home are always asking to use it. It's fun, it's educational, and it's easy.
The only down side is it only holds about 30 minutes....but for the price, it's perfect for quick video clips. perfect!

Not wanting to invest big $ for a full size video camera, I was happy to see one with a 30 minute recording time, no tapes to buy, no cable to download and no camera bag to carry all the stuff that goes with a normal cam, and to top it off, I can carry it with me in my shirt pocket. Quality of video is great when plugging into a TV, 2X telephoto of limited use because of pixillation, but normal lens has remarkable clarity for such a small package. I'm always ready now to capture the unforeseen occurrences. Best "Bang for the Buck" that I can think of. The HD version must be gang-busters. I bought several of these cameras to test with elementary-aged students and they work beautifully. The students don't need much more training than a couple of minutes and the transfer of the files to the computer is simple. I go straight through the DCIM folder instead of installing the software. We use MovieMaker to edit the files and the students have prepared amazing projects.
The sound quality is not the best but if you keep in mind where you are recording there usually is no problem.
This is a great little video camera for just about anyone!
