I bought the flip video ultra cam for a great price here at Amazon. ($59) I wanted something that I could use to take small clips because I like to create videos with pictures and live video. It's small, fit in my purse was so easy to use and so easy to hook up to my computer. The software within the cam was great, too. I was amazed at how well it picked up sound. I had someone use it to video a performance at my church and they were sitting a good 50 ft away and it picked up the sound so well. A little trick to know is that even if you delete the video off the camera itself you need to go in and save the video on your computer and then empty the trash within the software; otherwise your camera will fill up the 30 minutes pretty quickly.
One of my friends has a five year old daughter and this camera was easy enough for her to use.
Unfortunately, I only had this cam for a few weeks and someone broke into my house stole my purse so now it's gone. If I buy another one I'd probably buy the one with 60 minutes. I would highly recommend this camera.

This little digital camcorder is just plain slick...!
It doesn't have a couple things my old camcorder has,
but my old camcorder doesn't fit in my pants pocket.
It takes very good videos, the software is simple, and
installs upon first connection to your PC.
That is nice, no humping around a CD for install when I go to the kids house.
Videos look good on my 50" big screen so I can walk around at gatherings and then show all what I recorded before the party breaks up.
Mine is one of the older 30 minute units.
It would be nice to have a unit that runs longer, but I have yet to fill it up (30 minutes is a long time in video) and I have used only one set of AA batteries in over a month and use it every other day for business also.
I record some repair jobs I do to show other employees how certain things are done...
It would be nice to pick a resolution, to drop it lower.
Takes good pictures inside with low light also.
For an inexpensive device it is great...!

This is the second Flip Ultra that I have purchased from Amazon. It does exactly what it is designed to do: produce easily transferable tv quality videos with a minimum of "technical interference" (dials, buttons, and settings) in a very compact package. Slip this in your pocket or purse and it is always available for those "Kodak Moments" that are otherwised missed. The Flip is pretty much "dummy proof" - turn it on, press the red button to start and stop recording, flip out the built in usb arm, plug it in to your computer. Once the video is downloaded you have the option of editing it, adding music to it, emailing it, or uploading to sites like YouTube for online viewing by others. The included editing software is rudimentary, but works for quick edits. The video files can be easily imported into more sophisticated editing programs for more extensive productions. This is an innovative product that is inexpensive enough that no family should be without one.Customer Review: I LOVE THIS 5 Stars
I wasn't that familiar with the Flip series when I ordered this one, but it looked interesting. I get tired of all the rigamarole I have to go through with the regular camcorder to actually see the movie. This Flip is way smaller than I expected, fits easily in a purse or pocket and the little bag it comes with is great for keeping the shmutz off of it while it's riding around in your purse. It's extremely easy to use, the picture quality was a real surprise. I can whip it out in a second and shoot a short little video whenever there's a pretty bird outside, the kids are acting up, the dogs are so cute on this. Then, within seconds, it's either on the computer or on the tv. Great little camera for the younger set too.........it's that easy to use. I intentionally wanted an older model Flip camera because I had one and lost it and I knew it would be sufficient for what I was doing. I was so happy to receive it and begin using it right out of the package. I took movies of my girls and their friends playing mall tag and my friend's son's kindergarten registration. I like it because it is fast and easy to plug in and make a movie. I like the older model because it is less expensive and I thing the picture quality is great. I don't think I need HD and we don't have an HDTV. Not to mention, I got this for less than my first one and it has more memory. My last shot was of a truck who was blowing black clouds out of his exhaust pipe into traffic. I was so stunned that I grabbed my Flip camera out of my purse and took a little video of it. I like having it in my purse, right there, so if something happens I can film it!
