Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Flip Mino Video Camera - Black, 2 GB,1 Hour (1st Generation) OLD MODELCustomer Review: Really Great for Families!!! Summary: 5 Stars
If you have kids or grand kids, you have to get this camera! I had the older Flip and just upgraded. It is really great and you can customize it to have your own photo or logo on it.
If you own a small business and want to give your clients a great gift for the holidays, get this gift with you logo on it. They will always use it and will always see your logo. Give it to your employees, they will love it.
I am in love with this video camera. It is so inexpensive, but is better than most of the really expensive cameras. You can get 10 of these cameras for the same price as one expensive camcorder and do the same things.
It is really great and I highly endorse it as one of the best gifts this year!
Customer Review: Flip is a big success. Summary: 5 Stars
The Mino is everything I thought it would be and more. After an initial disappointment with it not being charged properly and a little help from FLIP Support it has worked flawlessly since. The trick here is to charge it fully right away. I took it out of the box and fired it up...worked fine. I charged it for a short time and thought I was okay. But later, it wouldn't turn on at all. FLIP Support informed me that in the tri-pod mounting hole is a small reset hole into which a paper clip or some such thing can be inserted. That will reset everything. Charge it fully and have fun.
I took it on vacation and now with the help of iMovie, I have a wonderful 26 minute video of our vacation at the beach. I couldn't be more pleased.
Customer Review: What's not to love? Summary: 5 Stars
The Flip Mino is perfect for those spur of the moment, 'video-opps' at home or on the go. (For the ultimate free guide to all things Flip, [...]) This thing is so teenie that sometimes I forget I have it with me. The the earlier versions, the Mino is incredibly easy to use. The big improvement over the Ultra is the inclusion of an internal battery, so no more battery changes. The Flip recharges when it's connected to your computer, where it also downloads the video. In addition to the AOL and YouTube "instant" uploads, the Mino adds MySpace to the mix. The Flip Mino is great for up close and personal videos, but it's not meant for anything more than four or five feet away. Still, there's no better minicam for the money!
Customer Review: Works properly and easily in under an hour Summary: 5 Stars
I am not an elite user. This camera works straight out of the box. It is intuitive, comes charged, and loads the first film you make into your computer and onto youtube. Software that offers you a download for saving, editing and posting videos just pops up the moment you plug the camera into your computer. It charges plugged into your computer with the one flip out USB connection.
For those who do not want to think that hard to make a video.
All these reviews are very brainy and descriptive. I made a video in under 5 minutes and posted it. Go see for yourself. This is the quality you get. (link below)

Customer Review: Convenient and very easy to use. Summary: 5 Stars
I find the Mino to be extremely convenient and easy to use. I've been able to get a lot of video of the small moments that occur throughout the day. With my Canon Elura miniDV cam I only bother to use it for big events like holidays and trips.
The Mino is perfect for recording funny things the kids do in their day to day life. For example I shot some quick video of my daughter doing gymnastics practice and my sons playing with the dog.
Combine the Mino with the GorillaPod for some extra versatility.
One issue so far. In iMovie08 the Mino video seems to make it crash when you play the video. Scrubbing through it and editing is fine but playback causes problems. I contacted Apple about it.
