Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Flip Mino Video Camera - Black, 2 GB,1 Hour (1st Generation) OLD MODELCustomer Review: Easy to use for us technically challenged Summary: 5 Stars
I really really love my Flip! Its so easy to use. The film resolution is really wonderful for such a little thing. The buttons in the back are flat and easy to maneuver. The transfer from Flip to computer is a breeze. You can also down load your video straight to Youtube. It's easy to delete any footage you may have on the Flip. They only down side is that there is no light on the Flip so the area you are filming has to be well lighted, but other then that there is no downside. Even their customer support is wonderful. I had to contact their support center and the customer service department were knowledgeable and incredibly nice. For those of you that are technically challenged and are looking for something non complicating but still something with quality in film, this would be your ticket. I would recommend this to you as I do to anyone else.
Customer Review: Flip Video Better Than Sliced Bread! Summary: 5 Stars
My wife and I were watching our grandson throw toys all over our family room. Since he is our grandson he can do no wrong. My wife asked, "why don't we have the video camera here when we need it?" I answered as nicely as I always do. "Because it has so many wires, batteries, cords, tapes...." Then I looked on Amazon and found the Flip Video Mino. I bought it, and quickly received it, and when I removed it from the box, it was love at first sight. The heavens opened, and the angels began to sing. It is rather hard to use though...push the red button to begin recording, push the same red button to stop. That's it! I mean that is really it. I love it. I'm 62 years old. When I grab Flip from my pocket, and push that little red button, I'm 21 again....but still wrinkled! Oh, buy two. Then the little woman won't need to talk at all!
Customer Review: Good looking and highly functional for what it promises Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a pocket-sized camcorder to use for basic video recording and this one works just fine. Couldn't be easier to use, the equivalent of a point-and-shoot digital camera. Good resolution, viewfinder just large enough to be useful for framing the subject and playback. Easy download directly to PC.
This is one of those great products that does what it says it will do. No over promising here: the maker tells you you're going to get 60 minutes of flash drive recording in a compact, well-designed unit and thats exactly what you get. It will be useful for casual videocamming and on-the-run recording. It will not be useful for someone who wants a lot of bells and whistles or the ability to do a lot of fancy editing and framing. But it gave me what I wanted at a price that you simply can't beat.
Customer Review: The iPod Nano of Video Recorders Summary: 5 Stars
Summary:
Love the convenience, form-factor, and results. The price is a bargain for this much capability.
Pros:
*Small enough to go everywhere you go.
*One thumb runs the whole thing.
*Lighted touch sensitive buttons guide you through steps.
*Very usable video quality.
*Drop dead simple Windows integration.
*Speaks native YouTube.
*Survives routine drops, coffee splashes, UPS crushers, and overstuffed computer bags.
*Lickable packaging with all the interconnect you need.
*Storage pouch doubles as lens cleaner.
Cons:
*More fingerprints than a crime scene.
*Mac installation not as slick as Windoze.
*Sound ease-of-use trumps quality (tech note: needs a better compressor/limiter).
*No SD slot (just like an iPod).
Customer Review: Flip Mino Camcorder - Video in you pocket Summary: 5 Stars
The Mino is a very sensible alternative to larger, more expensive camcorders. Why? Not because of superior image quality, or a dazzling feature set, but because you will use it. This is a device that is small enough and simple enough to carry with you at all times, allowing you to capture images that you would not otherwise record. The image quality is perfectly fine for posting on the web or viewing on your computer screen. Don't expect a pristine image when viewing it on your television. File size is small and easy to work with, using either the bare bones editing software that comes with the camera, or a third party program. Battery life is excellent, low light capability is surprisingly good and connectivity couldn't be simpler. This is a device that does one thing and does it very well. Highly recommended.
