Customer Review: Flip Ultra - Great investment!

I bought the Ultra two weeks ago and couldn't be happier. I had read about people having problems with the record button, but did not have any such trouble with mine. The main selling feature for me was the fact that the Ultra could be bought with an underwater housing. I don't think they have this yet for the Mino. (good to 30 feet)
The camera is light weight and fantastically easy to operate. Unlike many cameras, the screen is very clear and easy to see, both in bright sunlight and underwater. The software is in the camera, so you can literally plug it into any USB on any computer and be watching videos in minutes. Nothing to install or programs to download. I import the video files directly into Final Cut Pro to edit. Both sound and picture quality are very good. I'd say exceptional if you are doing it for the web. Recorder my first horse race on July 4th using my new Flip recorder. I was pleasantly surprised on the qualiity of the audio and the picture. The picture was a little grainy in the back stretch of the race, however the front stretch was absolutely fabulous. The only draw back I could even think of is the video screen. While recording a race for example in the sunlight you can't see the image in the screen. You have to have the "point and hope" theory that the horse or image you are recording is in the picture. One other issue that customers have to be aware of is it is not compatible with all computers. You need to be sure you have compatible or the latest and greatest "Windows". I would say that the method of connecting to TV is easy and provides a good crisp picture. Now I want you all to remember that I am recording a horse race on a half mile track!! I bought this camera on a whim after seeing it demonstrated on another website. The price seemed reasonable...very reasonable in fact...and I liked the fact that the camcorder was small enough to slip into my shirt pocket. I wasn't expecting too much out of a camera made of plastic that all you had to do was turn it on, point it and shoot, but I was more than pleasantly surprised! The picture quality and color is quite amazing and the 60 minutes of recording time more than adequate. I won't go into the details of the ease of use, etc. Others have done a good job on that, but I just want to tell people that my decision to buy this camera was a great choice and I have absolutely no regrets or negative comments to say about it. Anyone looking for an extremely portable, lightweight camcorder for basic recordings should not hesitate to purchase the Flip Video Mino.Customer Review: They call me "Mr. Flip-O"

I read some great reviews from PR professionals who are using the Flip Mino in the workplace to do quick down-and-dirty video to lend some authenticity to their work. I must say . . . the reviews were spot-on. The Flip is so easy to use, a monkey could use it. (No kidding.) We were doing a major product launch, and in the space of a couple of days, I'd interviewed the major players, incorporated additional footage and produced a celebration video for the company intranet. We ended up with happy, informed employees and kudos from the boss. All for less than $200. Although the Flip Mino has a great little editing tool stored on its hard drive, we decided to spring for something a little more robust. However, it is entirely possible to use ONLY the Flip and get by just fine. I've flipped over the Flip, and now everybody's calling me Mr. Flip-O. Love it!Customer Review: Awesome camcorder

This device is wonderful. I bought it because (a) I don't like carrying large, clunky devices such as traditional camcorders, and (b) I wanted something that would transfer videos very fast to my computer (my other camcorder transfers at a "real time" rate - very time consuming!).
This device fits both criteria! It is super small, about the size of a cell phone. And, a 20 minute video clip is transferred to the computer in about 1 minute. It also allows you to edit clips, and has a friendly UI allowing easy send via email or uploading to YouTube.
Other pros:
*built-in USB, allowing quick charging and transfer of video without cables
*easy button controls
*good screen
*good sound quality
Cons:
*limited zoom (only 2x, I believe)
I couldn't be happier with this device!
