Customer Review: Best iPad stand on the market!
Summary: 5 Stars

I know, this is supposedly for books, but who uses a book stand?

I got this looking for a cheaper alternative for my Apple iPad, and it works great! The stand folds compact, and fits in my messenger bag perfectly. It holds the iPad sturdier than other stands (many are plastic and wobble), and I was able to use this on the airplane to watch movies on the iPad with no problem. I take it to coffee shops or wherever, and it's turned the iPad into a portable desktop.

The stand will hold the iPad in both portrait and landscape orientation. The rear stabilizer struts are long, so it would take quite a jolt to knock the iPad off. This was a problem with other stands. I compared this to the sixty dollar metal stand they sell at the Apple Store, and this one was more compact, just as sturdy, and obviously a bazillion times cheaper.

The only downside (for some) would be that the front pegs, made to hold pages into place, extend up in front of the iPad. This has not been an issue for me. If you sit in a normal height chair and table, looking somewhat downward at the iPad, the pegs do not block the screen at all. If you set it somewhere so that it is at eye level, the pegs extend up enough to obscure a tiny half-centimeter strip. If this bothered me, I'd cut them shorter (the rubber stops come off, so you could do this and then put them back on to fix this issue), but it hasn't been an issue.

Customer Review: Wiry, But Mighty
Summary: 5 Stars

This small, seemingly fragile, piece of book paraphernalia has been one of the best buys I've ever made.
And at one of the best prices: I've never seen it advertised for more than $7.-. (A quick check shows a price range of $3.15 to $5.69. {Remember, shipping charges will apply, raising the final cost.})
While it's not designed to hold open thick paperbacks (say, something by Stephen King), it does hold open every hard cover and textbook I've insert into it. (A suggestion: If one wants to keep open a King-like paperback, try a weighted leather bookmark. It's my second-favorite piece of book paraphernalia and runs for about $10.-.)
Also, I am disabled and am physically unable to hold books open. This has extended my reach and ability to continue reading. A life- and limb- saver.
By holding up a book, I can eat and read, take notes and read, and sometimes just read.
It's wiry, but mighty.

Customer Review: really sturdy, versatile
Summary: 5 Stars

I just received this a couple days ago. I expected it to be somewhat flimsy (despite the product description.) It is definitely NOT flimsy - very sturdy indeed. Plus, since I tend to read a lot of big, fat books as well as smaller paperbacks, I immediately tested it out for the big fat books. Put LORD OF THE RINGS on the stand..works just fine! Then a hard cover equally thick book - no problem! I anticipate some issues with the first few pages of a thick book, but once you have gotten 40 or 50 pages into it, this will hold the book just fine.
It folds nice and flat and can be carried easily with your book. This should make reading while eating lunch or dinner at a restaurant a lot easier!! A must for those of us who travel a lot on business and have to eat alone...with a book.

Customer Review: Good Stuff...
Summary: 5 Stars

I was searching and searching online for the perfect "book-holder" for my fiancé aka English major w/a minor in Philosophy and continuing on to her Masters. As you might be able to deduct, she reads a lot! In my quest I almost broke down and purchased one of those "as seen on tv" book/laptop holder things, but last minute found this simple, yet stylish design on Amazon. I was skeptical, but liked the design. It was perfect! It works great! A couple weeks after buying this we found that "tv" book holder at a local store, and man am I glad I didn't buy that one! Big, clumsy, and just plain ugly! Not only is this one small and simple, but it completely folds up for easy storage too! Great product, in fact I may buy more! Thank you.

Customer Review: Ace little tabletop wire bookstand
Summary: 5 Stars

This bookstand is what any student, researcher, or writer needs, but didn't know that they needed. I had always had trouble with quoting, analyzing, and reading from my books and articles while trying to type up papers. A bookstand was suggested to me, and lo! has it helped me greatly. Now I can open a book, or rest a journal article on it, looking at it while I type.

A nice bonus of this stand is that it is double sided. One side has grips that come up to hold open stiff books. The other side is more for laying something against it, like a magazine.

A helpful device that you often don't realize you need, you will be grateful at how much assistance this little doohickey gives you!
